It was often thought during the 80's that most football hooligans were young professionals "letting off steam" I once remember a news report that one of Arsenal's most notorious hooligans was supposedly a school headmaster
One of the racists has been identified as a 20yr old ex public schoolboy named Josh Parsons. He is also a Chelsea season ticket holder
Hopefully the Chavs stick by their statement and issue him the full punishment available. And hopefully the other perpetrators are caught as well.
Good that the club has denounced them so quickly and hopefully a strong message to deter other such c*ntishness will follow.
One of the pictured racists has also been pictured with right wing UKIP party leader Nigel Farage: http://www.theguardian.com/politics...etro-video-posed-in-picture-with-nigel-farage
Given the discussion on here about the working class element of hooliganism, it's interesting to see the background of the only identified Chelsea fan so far. He went to a £30k p/a boarding school and works for this lot: http://www.thebusinessandcommercialfinanceclub.co.uk/ Wonder what they'll make of his UKIP aspirations?
This is not about class and culture. It's about the hardcore section of Chelsea away support telling the world what they are about and what they represent. CFC have to be seen to do the right thing (hence the outrage by the club in the media ) CFC and anyone who has followed football from the early 80s know what they are about. Millwall Is Chelsea's sister club. The fans share the same mentality and dislike of cultural differences. The new age post Roman plastic bag is completely unaware of the club they support and what they represent. It's good these fans did this because they don't represent a minority they represent the hardcore support of the club. Now everyone will see what Chelsea are about. A scourge on the game of football and a scourge on society.
What punishment do you guys think is fair ? if it was up to me I'd ban Chelsea fans from European away fixtures for the next 2 seasons
Not sure what the point is here? Is it that by being pictured with farage he is a racist? Or it somehow proves he's a racist because he supports UKIP? Despite attracting a lot of idiots UKIPs policies aren't actually racist and a huge element of there support aren't racist. Either that or at the last national election we proved we are a country of racists A huge section of UKIPs support is anti-EU and they are also collecting a lot of votes from people fed up with liblabcon. There are of course people who vote for them based on immigration (again this doesn't make them racist, it's ok to question how we deal with immigration) and the party inevitably attracts some racists due to this. Also on another note the article you posted says that there is no evidence at all that the man identified was actually involved in any racist chanting or the incident with the black man. All they know is he is a Chelsea fan who was on the train. (That said he is clearly a racist, look no further than his twitter account!)
