I think your over dramatising the situation. RVP can't play every game, so currently out of our cover, Anelka would be by far the best option and he would probably get more games at Arsenal than at Chelsea - where even Torres is strugging to get in the team. In defence too, it's well known that top clubs have a first choice CB pairing and a second choice CB pairing - Djourou and Miquel also play CB, but they also play as fullbacks too, as does Koscielny. This leaves room for Alex at CB, who would be first choice over those two players. It would give us a very versatile back four with options. For these reasons, I don't think there would be any dressing room trouble whatsoever.
I dont see that happening now that we have Per Metesacker. If alex joins arsenal, he would demand something he wasnt getting at chelsea and i dont think we would be able to offer that to him at arsenal as well. Any defender that wenger buys in january, i think, will be a decent, inexperienced standing kind of CB that woulnt mind learning from the bench. In other words, an inexperienced Squillaci or djourou: hope not though. Anelka on the other hand is past it for any top four club in the EPL.. He would probably move abroad or to mi table team where he thinks he can revive his footballing career. He wouldnt be a bad buy for Tottenham though..lol
I think it would be a fitting end to his career to finish it at Arsenal. It's well documented that he regrets leaving Arsenal when he did.
Yep. Koscielny, Vermaelen & Mertesacker are fine. Djourou is learning and will improve - he's very young for a CB, and he's nothing like a RB. Miguel is promising and even younger, and Bartley has plenty of experience now.
