Despite owners being willing to spend limitless cash and break transfer records. Oh, I feel sorry for you. . Your lack of success is simply down to being able to pick a decent manager since Fergie left. Which I suppose is the Glazers fault.
A draw or better on Sunday will also mean we've beaten the 'invincibles' points tally for the 3rd time. Great thread.
Check out how much we spent in the first 5 years of the Glazer ownership. Clue, it's less than Liverpool and a lot less than Chelsea But we did win 3 PL titles and a European Cup.
You didn't really have the pressing need to spend then. When you have needed it they have spent ferociously. The Glazers have presided over a much more rapid growth of your club than any previous owner. It's slumping now, but, they are putting a lot in to try and change that. As sleazy as they can be, they've not been nearly as bad as many other owners around the Premier league.
I noticed you couldn't put consecutive wins in 2005 as little old Charlton beat you at the bridge. I remember it well because Maureen claimed it didn't happen!!
We finished third, 15 points behind Arsenal, the season before they took over full control. Chelsea were spending money ferociously. Naive to say that we didn't "need" to spend at the time. We couldn't as they'd mortgaged the bollocks out of the club. Fortunately we had Fergie. If we hadn't had Fergie then the record Ginger Marks and I exchanged posts about would very much be Chelsea's but it isn't despite the Glazers.
On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being git good) on good threads, this one is an Emperor penguin. Can Conte balance an egg on his feet for months at a time?
Yes there is, I knew a Susan once who had a small snatch and one freezing January evening in an alley spewed my offering all over my ivy shop brogues. Not being the most fastidious of guys at the time I nurtured those eggs until the summer.
Blackpool seaworld. They even have a blue whale that can do 'god save the queen' through its blowhole.
