It's sad how every club has to have these brainless idiots, it's a shame that these people are even allowed to support a team, they should be locked up. I had a bad feeling that something like this would arise with some Chelsea fans yesterday as i have been to a Liverpool v Chelsea match before only as a neutral but i have heard Chelsea fans sing a particular song, i'm not sure what one it is but it includes abuse about hillsborough towards liverpool fans and i found it really disgusting. Don't see how some people can mock someones death, a death/deaths comes way before football rivalrys but sadly some people don't get that, every club has its idiots to be fair it's not just Chelsea, ( Leeds and Liverpool singing Munich songs towards Man U ), the constant fighting between Millwall and West Ham, Tottenhams prejudice insults to Chelsea and many other cases. Don't see why people just can't enjoy the game, maybe i'm missing the whole rivalry thing because i am a neutral ( i only support england and now and again my local club who is in a league you've probably never heard of ). Anyway hope Chelsea can find the idiots and ban them
In a sense it was a mistake by the FA to hold a minutes silence at the Chelsea v Spurs semi after they had 'made' Chelsea play on the sunday, and lets be honest the FA knew there was a good chance what could and in the end did happen. The actions of the sick minority of Chelsea 'fans' has now upped the bad feelings between fans of both clubs and could cause a few problems at the final. Another royal **** up by the FA.
It was a disgusting spectacle, there is absolutely no doubt about that. I have little doubt that had Muamba suffered his heart attack at Stamford Bridge, sections of the Chelsea crowd would have been cheering and singing their hearts out, and inventing new and cruel songs with which to use the incident to insult Bolton fans. I'd call them animals, but most animals don't abuse their own kind in this disgusting, baseless manner.
Tools have their uses, sometimes. The knuckle-dragging, neanderthal throwbacks that you count among your fan-base are nothing more than scum.
The minutes silence was partly for the Italian player who died in similar circumstances. It is reasonable to pose the question?
It had **** all to do with the Italian player, they were chanting 'Murderers Murderers'. We had a minute silence for muamba and nobody did anything, it's probably one of the most ridiculous things I've heard on this forum.
They weren't disrupting the silence because of the footballer, they were aiming their chants about Hillsborough. What they did to the Italian player's memory was disrespectful and thoughtless, what they did to the memory of the Hillsborough victims was vile and unforgivable. Anyway, seeing someone near death on the pitch is totally different to a moments respect for a tragedy 23 years ago. It's a huge leap from one to the other.
District Line has admitted to hearing a section of the Chelsea crowd chanting "you killed your own fans!" A group of fans capable of doing that is capable of sinking to any depth of depravity. That's the point I was trying to make.
100% agree. The action of the few idiots was disgusting but I'm not sure it would have happened had the FA not given us such a stupid kick off time in advance of the Barca game. I think it was a protest against that as much as anything else - albeit a stupid ill advised one. As for HIAG comments re Muamba, stupid and ill advised also.
I agree, and on balance I am sure they would have behaved properly. However the behaviour on Sunday was disgraceful and it was worthy of discussion. I didn't actually express a view, just could understand why someone would wonder about it. It may not have been because of the Italian footballer, but that was a cause for the minutes silence and they did disrupt it. The effect is the same. We all thought how good it was when players around the world thought of Muamba and now they will see an English game asking for a minutes silence and see Chelsea fans not observing it. The fact it was about Liverpool won't make it easier to watch in Italy?
What prejudice insults to Chelsea? Do you mean that anti-Semitic crap that Chelsea and West Ham inflict upon Spurs at every game, which passes without notice? I'm sure that we all agree that there's a minority of idiots with any club. Some clubs have a slightly inflated minority, though!
The chant was Murderers Murderers would that be directed at the police at Hillsborough? If so it was far from lack of respect for the victims the opposite in fact. If you are going to hold these kind of public displays of grief then do not be surprised if some people protest, after all it's a bit rich for the FA authorities to try to claim the moral high ground when they were party to the events that caused the loss of life in the first place. All this faux sympathy and regret for everything from Diana to the Titanic to Hillsborough is one of the biggest shams of our time and many of us do not buy it.
