This thread simply quotes the Sunday Times and links to it's story, no comment or opinion from me in the OP, yet you've construed it as an 'anti spurs wum thread', so that says more about your persecuted mind set, than anything else. You then tried to have a dig @Big Ern about West Ham and you got your arse handed to you on a plate regarding the hypocrisy of Spurs tapping up their current manager, previous managers openly courting other players, your club using phone hackers and spies over the OS, threatening to leave Tottenham unless Haringey gave you millions of public money for your own stadium and your owner Joe Lewis basing Spurs business in the offshore tax haven of the Bahamas. Add to that, that Lewis even strong armed £27m out of Haringey's 'Riot regeneration fund' for your new stadium project despite him being one of the wealthiest men on the planet, pleading poverty and ditching the £16m earmarked for social regeneration in the area. So you can see why Spurs fans crying foul over West Ham using the OS rings hollow.
MP was known to be leaving Southampton the minute their owner gave control of football mattes to his daughter. And regardless of what big ern says spurs did not try to buy loads of Southampton players. We bid for Schneiderlin, who got into a massive row with his club about broken promises...it was Liverpool, Arsenal and United that raided Southampton. How the **** piskie sees that as Spurs being hypocrites ... his logic is bizarre. Yet the self proclaimed leftie has no issue with West Ham (a multi million pound business) being given the olympic stadium for £2.5m a year, when it cost the public hundreds of millions. Tens of millions more have been spent altering it and Newham Council (one of the poorest in Britain) gave West Ham a tax free £5m loan. The £40m given to Spurs was to pay for infrastructure work and community resources...this is very different to the deal agreed by Boris Johnson (Tory Major of London) and Seb Coe (ex Tory MP) to a club run by Karen Brady (Tory Lord). Her only vote in the House of Lords was to vote through benefit cuts "as the country can't afford the cost" ... but she has no issue with handouts totalling hundreds of millions to her multi million pound business.
