I think that he's offering his own opinion, that a high enough bid would secure a transfer for Modric, against the club's official position, that the Croatian's not for sale at any price. I'd suggest that he's right in what he believes, but wrong to publicly declare it. Just like a lot of what Redknapp has had to say, in fact.
I can never work out if Redknapp means what he says, believes what he means, says what he wants others to believe, believes what he thinks he understands, understands what he believes others think, or is just bluffing himself ?
I don't think that you're supposed to, Piskie. He plays the media quite well, though a lot of the time it's in his own interests, rather than those of the club. Levy should rein him in, in my opinion.
I think he's just stating the obvious. In this world, everything has it's price. That doesn't mean that the price in this instance, is one that The Chavs are liable to pay.

I don't think that he'll be sacked, Ensil. He's Redknapp's buffer and a key part of his team. As you say, I think he's had a verbal slap from Levy, but unless he repeats his mistake, then I can't see him losing his job.
If Redknapp goes then Bond definitely will join him, I don't disagree there, but I'd suggest that it's unlikely to be before that, unless he sticks his foot in it again or we need a scapegoat for poor results.

I agree Bond should guard his tongue more carefully. It is obvious that there is always the offer you can't refuse, but we don't need him giving Abramovich any unecessary encouragement.
