Can't comment on the Ripples as I've only had about 3 in my whole life, but I agree with you on the Snickers, they're a lot drier than they used to be, I've stopped bothering.

They've gone downhill. When I was at school I could eat 3 or 4 bags in a row. I'd often pop into the local shop on my way home and bulk-buy, I always thought I could manage it without spoiling my tea but from what I can remember I always failed. You could say I had a problem.

Nowadays they've ****ed about with the recipes - certainly the Cheese and Chive ones and they just aren't the same. Really sour and taste more like a bag of Salt and Vinegar if I'm honest.

That's a good list until you throw in beef hula hoops <doh>

Oh my god Glennon's just opened a whole new debate bringing sweets into it. The ones you've mentioned are very good except for Black Jack - I've never been a liqourice kind of guy.

Oh and dj my sandwich of choice would be some kind of meat and cheese combo (don't give a **** what meat even if it sounds like a weird combination)

How the **** is it a treat if its healthy??

    Thats just crazy talk!

I used to get my kids penguins when they were younger, and felt proud knowing I was giving them the very best in life. Then one day the eldest who was about 13 at the time says *dad can we have the orange Tesco's own ones, they're nicer?*

    I was crushed.

Ah blackjacks, Im salivating just thinking about them. I used to unwrap like 4 or 5 and put all them bad boys in my gob at once.

Scuse me, I need a tissue now.

    Yes.

I wasn't suggesting we eat healthy or anything, I just said I'd rather have no treat at all than a pointless penguin!

Just hang on a minute before you go nailing him to a cross. Maybe penguins are dead? Has anyone had one recently to confirm they're still as good as they used to be?

I'm gutted, I've got another 11 of them in the cupboard. I got a pack of ripples, and 3 each of Mars, Snickers, and Twix because I'm stocking up my sweet cupboard for next season's train journeys when I see things on offer. I'm hoping Cadbury's stuff is on offer next as I like the Double Deckers and Boosts.

Cola Bottles are the other one. Haven't seen ordinary ones rather than fizzy ones for ages. Then I was in Aldi and saw they do them, so I've got a pack of them to try before I stock up. After the Ripple and Snickers disappointment I couldn't face having a 3rd one tonight so I'm saving them for the weekend.

For what it's worth, here 's my crisp top 10. Deal with it:

    1. Frazzles - ok, not top 10 material.
    2. Brannigans beef and mustard (any crisp that gives you that funny feeling in your nose has to be good) top 10 material
    3. Firey Monster Munch - not 'technically' a crisp it's made from corn-disqualified.
    4. Cheesy Quavers not 'technically' a crisp it's made from corn-disqualified
    5. Walkers Prawn Cocktail- the ****test flavour crisp-ever. Seafood crisps-vomit.
    6. Salt and Vinegar Chipsticks not 'technically' a crisp it's made from corn-disqualified
    7. Beef Hula Hoops-Top 10 contender.
    8. Cheesy Wotsits not 'technically' a crisp it's made from corn-disqualified
    9. Pickled Onion Space Raiders not 'technically' a crisp it's made from corn-disqualified
    10. Scampi Nik Naks not 'technically' a crisp it's made from corn-disqualified

Abysmal top 10, made up of nancy boy corn snacks. You all need to man up on your potato 'crisps'....

Ricardo, I salute your forward thinking!

Just wanna throw another question into the (pick 'n')mix....

Choccy - Cold from the fridge or warm from the cupboard?

Personally, hate it warm, its always gotta be outa the fridge for me. Some choccy I cant eat if its not been in the fridge such as dime bars, mars and double deckers.

I can confirm that I had some last month when someone at work brought them in for her birthday. Either she had found them at the back of her cupboard and had had them for years, or penguins still exist.

    Either way, they were awesome.

Oh, and Worcester Sauce french fries are my current crisp of choice

Ideally from the fridge but I'm not too fussy.
