Didn't Suarez go for about the same amount as Silva and Toure? Even Aguero doesn't seem that much given he was about the same as Figo back in 2000. I don't think the market's that bad unless you're going for a player from a big rival, the selling club has you over a barrel to a certain extent, or you are willing to pay way over the odds for a specific player like Ronaldo, Kaka or Torres.
Wages is the main thing though. Suarez trebled his wages from Ajax at Liverpool but he's only on around £60k a week here. Toure is on £200k a week. Massive difference there. I say only £60k a week, but that's in football terms.
