14 'new' witnesses who 'know' the victim have been found by Chedwyn's private investigators. His multi millionaire father in law must have coughed up quite a bit for all of this. They say it's not a character assassination of her though. Didn't realise that many people were in the hotel room that night that can vouch for his innocence. Wonder if any of them filmed it too.
I've not being following it, so could be miles off here, but is the information existing but not being used, the same as 'new evidence'? They can't have thought it was that good before.
I think they've just found people who said she likes a drink and sex so Evans must be innocent. As Charlie said if they weren't in the room they wouldn't know if she consented to having sex with Evans.
I presume the press do kn I haven't seen anything The appeal would have been open to the press. They will have heard the evidence but cannot report on it until after the decision.
It's worth remembering that she could not recall having sex, so any hope of her recalling a small detail like consent is a tad optimistic.
He can't have a re trial as he was convicted and served time. All the court of appeal will do is either quash the conviction or uphold it
I'm guessing the retrial will be an attempt by the prosecution to have him convicted again but no more jail time? Seems like if he's exonerated, the prosecution are determined to make sure his name is still tarnished.
Whatever the outcome of this review, it's not in any bodies best interest for there to be any further action.
Seems like a waste of taxpayers' money. If his conviction is quashed, that's it, surely? His name is cleared and he can sign for Hull City in the summer to fire us to the Premier League after we miss out on promotion this year and Bruce joins Villa.
