Was going to start a thread but I'll do it here to avoid any duplications.

Big apology for my comments in the thread regarding signing Ched - I always believed in innocent until proven guilty but realise I went way over the line in the way I posted.

So apologies from me to any members I offended.

    Have a good weekend <ok>

Is this not a sad case of having too much too young?

A young man earning a vast sum of money and the fame and adulation that goes with it can i sure be quite a giddy mix. I am not excusing his behaviour in any way but we give these young kids all this sudden wealth and we expect them to cope with it. The media will have a field day in condeming him but he should not be beyond redemption and I hope that he can rebuild his life. The young men who find themselves in this fortunate position must be taught that with wealth comes responsibility and self control, I'm not sure if these kids get this kind of guidance and until we instil this into them I'm afraid that these stories will become far more frequent.

just nuts isnt it...the world at your feet, a career millions would give their right bauble for, and you go and do something unforgivable like this...i dont know if i do hope he rebuilds his career...i believe in rehabilitation, very much so, but i dont think he deserves to pull on a football shirt and be held in adulation by anyone after this...

One thing which I find dodgy is Clayton McDonald get's found not guilty but he was most probably there whilst this was all happening, the girl says she was drunk and may of had here drink spiked but with McDonald it's consensual then with Evan's it's rape. Sounds like a very inconsistent case something doesn't sum up.

Quite possibly. Still, we all know right from wrong. Don't know how much truth in it but, I heard he was on circa 20k a week.

I still can't see how if she was so trolleyed that she legally could not give consent how the first guy has gotten off. I know the argument that he "pulled" her BUT if they're using the argument of being too drunk to give consent if anything she's more likely to have sobered "slightly" 2nd time round, presumably there is more to the case than those facts.

Without wanting to sound callous nor say that "she asked for it" (as no one does obviously) if you go out, end up on your own absolutley blotto'd so you can't even stand you are putting yourself in a VERY dangerous situation. Let me put it this way, I go out get totally wrecked, end up on my own walking home, meet some lads and get a kicking and mugged etc amount of sympathy I would expect from the man on the street - NONE now put a lady in that situation and sympathy all round (as there should be for anyone affected by crime). again i'm not saying she asked for it or deserved but she did something monumentally stupid and has paid for it. These guys have equally done something even more stupid and now one of them is paying for that (and the other one is "not guilty")

Everyone needs to show some social responsibility and not put yourself in a dangerous situation, if it hadn't been rape she could have been killed after being hit by a car (been there sadly) or any other nasty horrid thing that you end up doing when out of your tree on anything.

I saw and read some of the stuff the Sheffield United followers were posting on the social networking sites about the young woman.
It shocked me that Neanderthal Morons still exist, and they think that it's acceptable to, not only to name her but to degrade her pubically.
People go out and get blind drunk every weekend, and now according to Sheffield United followers, it's normal to rape them, or get their dogs to do it!!!!!!!
Life up north is pretty grim after all!

Jenny, I agree 100%, this piece of **** should never see the light of day again! I see he is appealing his conviction! I hope the court takes the opportunity to at least double his sentence!

By the way, welcome "home" to the Prem. <ok>
