The format is such a shame this season, it makes the trophy almost worthless as U21 teams arent viewed in the same competitive way. Still, come on saints! Good to see the youngsters doing well
I met one of them in my local tonight. He said something like he'd see me next Tuesday. Nice chap. Not.
http://www.mkdons.com/news/article/...de-trophy-mk-dons-mk-dons-barnet-3279909.aspx Says Round of 32 The eight winners and eight runners up of the north and south group stages qualify for the round of 32. All other clubs are eliminated from the competition. The round of 32 pairings are determined by means of a draw whereby the winner of a group will be drawn at home and will play a runner up of a group from the same region (but not from the same group). Subject to the requirement above, the EFL shall determine the format of, and conduct, the draw to determine the round of 32 and the allocation as home club and away club. Matches will be of 90 minutes duration, with no extra time. If the scores are level then the match will be determined by penalties.

So Portsmouth didn't make it through (there was a small chance depending on last night's results). No chance of a veeeeeery interesting game then.
It would have been win/win for us. If we lost, well, it was our U21s what do you expect. But if we had won...
