Citeh play Burton in the 2nd leg of the league cup the following evening. I don't think there is much chance of Burton overturning the 9-0 deficit, so I can't see the problem that they were raising

Dunno. The formal announcement was delayed until the FA (or whoever) looked in to an objection that Man City had raised

City are quoted as being upset on the BBC website saying they wanted to play some of their youngsters against Burton.
They approached the FA and got no joy in rearranging our game to a later date.
Wouldn't have thought it was much of an issue considering the size of their squad backed by their wealth but they seem not to see that.
    My heart bleeds.

Surley Man City has a long list of young players who would benefit from some first team
    Experience
This game is our first team we are talking about
And game shedual for us is more important

Yep, On the 4th our U23s played Newcastle U23 on the Friday and the Seniors played Charlton away the next day and could only name 6 subs as a result. We didn't grumble once.

Boo ****ing hiss Man City!! A club spending quarter of a billion on players with multi billionaire owners wanted to move the game so they could play their youngsters in a game which is already won. Why the **** should we be made to change to accommodate that?

Infact if it had been changed til 29th
That would mean we had 5 home games in three weeks

However, Guardiola will now have to spread his youth side over the two matches, attempting to field a strong enough side to beat Sunderland while at the same time resting a number of his senior players in the game against Burton.

I thought the under21s had there own manager

Glad the FA actually had the balls to say 'No'.

Pisses me off completely this - they complain about the 24 hours between the games of a senior and an U21 game - that happens every week with the league so why should this be treated differently?

It's only little Sunderland - they forget how recently they were in the position we are (actually the people making these statements probably don't even know!!) and the fans seem to be very Newcastle/Keegan esque in that the club was only formed when the Sheik took over!!
