That was the case, but there are Wetherspoons pubs now that are still cheap but play music and have football on TV. The main Man United pub in Old Trafford (The Bishop's Blaize) is one such place. They have all football matches on TV but it's still only £1.50 for a pint of John Smiths. I think it's £1.75 for lager. It's a nice pub too. Yet you'll get real scruffy ****-holes that charge 50% more.
