The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine

An absolutely brilliant book just re reading it. The film is great, but the book is infinitely better.

I am a huge Michael Lewis fan, he combines two of my loves Sport and finance/statistics.

If you enjoy books based on History I can highly recommend the books written by Simon Scarrow.
He's wrote a series of novels based at the time of the Roman invasion of Briton and another series based on Wellington and Bonaparte.

If you like Lone Rider you really should read The Rugged Road by Theresa Wallach, stirring stuff!

I tend to stick to author's and read their collections, especially if they have different character series. I did all of the Michael Connolly 'Harry Bosch' books, and I have just finished every David Baldacci book - reading them a series at a time 'John Puller' 'Will Robie' 'The Camel Club' etc.

Going to start through all of the Linwood Barclay books next, read some of them and they are very good, so looking forward to starting at the beginning and reading through to his latest one

For those into adventure motor biking travel books the one you need to read is Riding the Edge by Dave Barr.

A guy with two false legs rode a 1972 Harley Davidson round the world starting in 1990. Charlie Boor me has nowt on this bloke.

Carmine, I have been reading all the the numerous reviews about this particular book. It would appear that Douglas Murray has hit the nail directly on the head. For obvious reasons I will not comment further but suffice to say I will be ordering a copy.

It’s hard work at times and I won’t lie, some of it is too deep for my limited intelligence.

The latter part of the book relates to art influencing culture and makes a lot of references to German philosophy.

On the whole a very interesting read but I can’t comment any further.

From what I have read so far it paints a very bleak picture indeed. The German "guilt trip" has a lot to answer for.
