Find it odd. It's probably used just because it starts similar to Chelsea (like us calling Spurs fans Spuds). But Chelsea has to be one of the most un-Chav like places in the county!

My thoughts exactly. I don't find it offensive as I know I'm not one and neither are the many Chelsea fans I know. Just banter I suppose.

I think it's used more to reflect the Burberry wearing supporters that Chelsea fans became renowned for.

That along with the fact that money can't buy you class <whistle>

Nah it would never buy you class, that's for sure.

I'm unsure who gets the given for identifying 'class' and distributing it to certain football clubs. In fact, you can stick class up your ar5e as far as I'm concerned. I've never felt the insecurity or urge to be identified as having it from persons unknown that I don't give a 5hit about.

I'd much rather be recognized as being the ONLY TEAM IN LONDON WITH A EUROPEAN CUP.

That's desperate that is, if Arsenal ever win it will you call yourselves "the only team at SB with a European cup" <laugh>

That could never happen, on account of the fact that it isn't true!
<doh>

Rather than the rather silly "spuds," I'd rather that the mighty Spurs be know as "the first English team to win a European trophy!"

That would be much more fitting!

You are both correct and kicking yourself in the nuts. He should have typed only team in London who have won THE Europen Cup and the mighty Spurs are nowhere near it. Decent fishing none the less, keep it up. <ok>

hehe, the name chav is funny, because I am unware of the burberry wearing lot of fans we are supposed to have, they dont exist.
Thats West Ham mate.

Chelski is another hilarious one, because it sounds like Chelsea and our owner is Russian.....shame Ski is a Polish suffix tho <ok>

I can honestly say I've never seen a Chelsea supporter at a match or otherwise covered in Burberry. Where has this myth come from??

Why a particular group of football fans (from a pretty wide catchment area) would choose to wear a particular brand of clothing that has nothing to do with the club lacks any reasoning or credibility.

<laugh>

Despite the obvious flaw, Chelski isn't too bad. Not unnecessarily offensive and quite simple and catchy. Man USA or Yoonited has got to be more annoying to their fans I'd have thought...

Cardiff fans used to wear that crap in the 90's, they'd all have it on.

Yeah I am not really offended by Chelski. Its just stupid because its not Russian <laugh>
My favourite one for rival teams was always "Dippers" for Liverpool <laugh>
or L'Arse for Arsenal :)
