LOL, mate I still feel THE NEW ONE is the real deal but AT FISHERS CROSS beat him fair and square at Cheltenham. We havent seen the best of him by a long chalk yet and over three miles I think he is going to be something very special indeed.

That brings me on neatly to a point I have been meaning to make for weeks. Is it coincidence that JP's best horses dont seem to reside at Jackdaws castle........

If you take out My Tent or Yours (who surely underperformed massively when the pair met) from the Chatterbox formlines then the latter’s profile suddenly looks a lot less wholesome than it did.

On debut he beat Harris into 3rd by 16 lengths. This one on his next 3 starts was beaten 84, 35 and 54 lengths!

Meanwhile, in that MTOY Newbury heat he beat the 3rd horse home (Best Boy Barney who was, of course, named after me) by 4.5 lengths. BBB has since been beaten considerably further in 2 average novice heats at Wincanton and Taunton.

Last time, under a 6 pound penalty, he beat home Lac Fontana (2 lengths) and Ballyculla (7 lengths). The former however looked no world beater when put in his place by Forgotten Voice at the weekend whilst he latter only finished a disappointing 3rd of 10 at Towcester last week and to boot is only rated 124. Going on a line through Ballyculla rather than MTOY Chatterbox is worthy of a rating no higher than the late 130’s.

I personally don’t think he’s got much change in either of the Cheltenham novice events and would imagine connections would swerve the meeting entirely with him. Providing they remain sound Mr Henderson will probably rely on MTOY and River Mague in the meetings card commencer.
