FHB - Did you go yesterday ? I don't know about you, but my overwhelming thought watching the game was that "lack of quality' runs through our side like BLACKPOOL through a stick of seaside rock. From Fox at full back to JBG [non trier] in midfield to Makienok up front. How can you ever hope to win a game at this level with 3/4 decent players? Fulham brought on Chris Baird - signed from Derby- and had Scott Parker, Cairney, McCormack, Dembele etc. Quite a stark contrast.
Vol - I always go to this one with my Fulham mate. I don't know whether it's lack of quality or if they're just a team of misfits. Look at JBG for instance, I don't think it's just lack of effort, he's gone downhill unbelievably, he actually used to be a good player with a deadly free-kick, look at him now. And when you see a defense which is a total shambles when faced with a corner kick I think you're looking at a deep malaise in a shell-shocked team. I thought the Harriotts were our only threat until Riga neutralised him by putting him wide right, where he always plays a stinker, but it was his first start, so it took a while for him to adapt. BTW I did applaud Solly, Fox and the Harriotts for at least having the guts to go to the fans afterwards, the rest scuttled off to the dressing room.
Complete lack of heart in our team week in week out barring the odd blip . Beggars belief how some fans were praising the Blackburn and Cardiff draws claiming decent performances . Just less abject than the rest of them. We have no fire in our Bellys go a goal down and pretty much roll over and die. We have a team by and large of mercenaries who don't really give a stuff about the club barring the kids Jacko Solly and Hendo
What has happened to Poyet it's beyond belief how poor he's become when he left he was quality the best player I'd seen in Charlton shirt for years controlled games top notch but now ....
I had some hope for the team when Riga was re-appointed but the performances we are witnessing just goes to re-inforce my view that he got out of it last time round by using CP's team and CP's backroom staff and the six games in hand that the weather and the poor pitch had gifted him. No games in hand, no CP backroom staff and only remnants of a team. Do I think Riga can turn this round - no. It hurts me to say this but will I be travelling 130 miles for home games next season with the current owners and managers - highly unlikely. It also hurts me to say that the only protest which will work is boycott. All the time we stand outside the ground and shout but still put money through the turnstiles and the food outlets he will continue to see us as stupid customers. He thinks he has taken our club the only way we can take it back is surgery and that means cutting off the blood supply to his regime. It will hurt but I believe the only way is kill or cure - boycott. Anyone who continues to attend must have the most perverted sense of loyalty - it is like watching a family member being dismembered by a deranged psychopath and paying for the pleasure.
Also - did anyone see the video doing the rounds on social media of the fan offering his season ticket to KM?
i did. i'd give mine back if i could. i emailed a month back asking for a refund because it was not as described. i got a reply saying they'd get back to me. nothing since. i'm not going next year. i cant stomach that sh1t anymore and i certainly aint funding roland, when the 'mares pay comes from there.
Once we are mathematically relegated - and it shouldn't be long now - I hope that CARD/CAST and the message boards can unite & organise a proper boycott that gets the attendance down to below 5,000. Birmingham at home at the beginning of April looks the obvious game - we will be gone by then. With a couple of exceptions, the players should be ashamed of themselves this season. Many are just not good enough for Championship football [Makienok, Reza, Fox], others have gone missing and have hearts the size of frozen peas [Igor, JBG etc]. I can't understand or accept why Fatokole has struggled to play 2 games in the last 18 months with a series of apparently minor niggles. A very, very good source told me he was seen in the West End of London last Thursday lunchtime carrying bags of boutique shopping. Some injury, FFS Fit enough to go shopping though- get your fat arse on the training pitch! Normally when you get relegated it presents an ideal opportunity for the rotten eggs to get cleared out of the club. Sadly under this mob there is every likelihood that a new batch of rotten eggs will replace them. As 'they' proved again in the January transfer window- their 5th - they simply have f**k all idea how to spot and recruit a player at this level. What other team in our position signs so many so called reinforcements who are either unfit or so short of game time as to be worthless. Diego Poyet is a prime example - he looks 10% of the player he was an needs a pre season now !! Why sign him FFS! I have already lost faith in Riga based on the evidence of my own eyes in the last 3 games. His excuses yesterday were risible. The result is not "unfair" mate when you can't defend corners and haven't scored a goal in 3 games. It means you are sh1t. It deeply saddens and grieves me that the Club of Lennie and Curbs and Gritty and Roger Alwen and the Selhurst 5,000 has now been reduced to this.
It's not the players who should be ashamed if they are not good enough, it is down to the " network" that brought them to you and the coaching / management structure that puts them in the team....
And as with Cellino at Leeds, you can guarantee that Duchatelet at Charlton will repeat exactly the same mistakes & lies in League One next season- the league he has just admitted he has no contingency plan for All that will happen is that he will sign an even lower grade of sh1t [if that is possible] to replace the current crop of sh1t who are mostly on loan, out of contract or freebies this summer. Target 20,000 has already been achieved though for that bitch Meire - there will definitely be 20,000 empty seats at the Valley for our first League One game in August.
Can't disagree with your assessment Of yesterday's game RV. We played a lot better than the last two games but found ourselves one nil down from their only chance. Thought Ba had his best game (why sub him and poet and replace him with Solly and JBG in CM?!? A large amount of our first teamers, Mak, berdshit, fox, Lennon, Harriot, Ba, aren't good enough for the champ. It's been there all season in black and white. If you add in that JBG, cousins, hendo have been ****e compared to last year, it's just an awful team. Just like to add, roger Johnson, must wake up every day wondering how lucky he is, so **** he can't get in our **** team, here for another 16 months !!
We won't be relegated by the Birmingham game as Mk, Rotherham and Bolton are all sh1te themselves. And I'll be there in August, call it perverted loyalty or whatnot, unless the badge on the shirt changes Saturday's watching Charlton, even now is a key part of my life. We're staying up anyway boys, keep the faith
If we stay up, it only confirms the RD regime for an extra year. The quickest way to get him out is to sink to Div Two in successive seasons. Then we could hopefully do a Portsmouth and get our club back. I know that goes against the grain. I posted earlier about the Dr Strangelove scenario where you need your own guys to fail. but that is the situation we are in. "Support the team, not the regime" is a snappy slogan, but intrinsically illogical. And it needs to happen rapidly, so that in two or three years there are still people about who love the club. If it happens slowly, over a decade, we will lose all our support and become another New Brighton or Hereford United.
B&M- don't worry, if Roland still owns Charlton next season it will be a repeat of this season. Roland will misunderestimate L1 just as he did with the Championship. Whatever he says, actions speak louder than words, and his actions show that he will carry on in the same mad way, he can't change. L1 teams will find it just as easy as Fulham to score against a defense which goes AWOL at set-pieces.
Spot on from FHB regarding the scenario for next season under Duchatelet in League One : - August, and a promising 2-1 home win v Scunthorpe - Igor breaks his jaw eating a Big Mac, and self certificates for the next 12 months - we then embark on a goalless 5 game run - Riga is sacked, and replaced by Bob Peeters who "knows the league and likes London" - Charlton now in bottom 4 of League One - a car park protest in November sees 14 fans attend - Meire announces "Target 25,000" - empty seats that is - the target is promptly achieved at midweek home game v Chesterfield - January crisis, and Meire admits the owner "underestimated the strength of League One" - Karel Fraeye reappointed Head of Recruitment, with a transfer budget of 97 pence - Peeters replaced, after our all- foreigner team complains to Meire that they can't understand him - an embalmed Richard Murray declares that new Interim Head Coach Guy Luzon is 'brilliant' - attendances fall below 2,000, and the Fans Sofa is pawned to DFS as the club enters administration - Meire offers £3 season tickets for exciting League Two season 17/18 GroundHog Day replaces match highlights on the big screen...
