I will be in attendance, lower West. Not expecting much but if the players give it all they have, can't ask a lot more on the day
Portsmouth Away last season without a doubt the highlight of the season ...cracking atmosphere ...flares ...singing for 90 min....nearly 3,000 Addicks in the packed away end....players celebrating with us at the end. What football should be all about,
please log in to view this image The Club have dedicated today's game to brave Jack Jeffreys..... well done
Low key, low quality first half. A few chances for both teams, neither side dominated. If Charlton fade after the break as they have tended to of late, Shrewsbury could punish us. They have not been impressive really, but have put a couple of good moves together. 0-0 HT PS: Barely 6,000 inside the Valley.
Nice…. I was kicking mysef for my 1-1 predition, and then some bloke called Grant pops up and Charlton get a winner in the 91st. Nice to have somethng to smile about on here, and three points are very welcome. Yessssssssss!
Better second half for sure. Albie Morgan looked bright and fearless, Taylor and Grant did what they are paid to do. Charlton deserved the win - even when we conceded the equalizer it looked more likely that we would retake the lead than let in a second. Shrewsbury are a shadow of their former shelves so far this season. I overestimated them. Lee Bowyer made the right changes. Credit to him for that, considering the number of injuries limiting his options.
Yes well done everyone. Especially Lapslie who laid on the first and Grant who scored the second. Both our own players, and wouldn't be playing if we had a decent-sized squad.
Surprisingly good performance, second half especially, we didn’t tire like last week, Bowyer’s doing brilliantly. Delighted to get the 3 points for little Jack
Having criticised Bowyer lsst week for not making subs, this week he got it spot on. Always a risk to swap an experienced but off-the-pace player like Marshall with an untried youngster like a Morgan. But hats off, his half time changes were the difference. Still a learning curve for Lee, but he showed he knows his business, and simply changing the formation is a step up from Robinson.
