I really don't think that we are a one man team. But with Hamed and Leko playing we carry very little goal threat. What Taylor does is pull defenders out of position with his runs. Hamed is too static which is easier to mark. We are going to have to hit Leeds on the break tomorrow as they will have most of the ball. That is why I would have Bonne up top and Aneke just off him. I really can't see us getting hammered but I think that Leeds will be too strong for us.
Leeds don’t hammer anyone, apparently. They average 70% possession but prefer the old Don Howe Arsenal scoreline. Hemed & Kayal have had a month to get fit now, so I am expecting a lot better from both of them tomorrow.
After the first 10-15 minutes, the atmosphere from the home crowd will depend on how the game is going. It always does at the Valley. If Charlton compete well and give everything, they will be backed loudly and more or less constantly. If Leeds pull our pants down and give us a football spanking, only their fans will be singing.
i've not been convinced by the brighton pair so far. looks like they could be the duds from gallens class of 2019.
0-3, well what else would you expect? Charlton are doing well and Bowyer was one of my favourite payers. How is he doing as a manager? I wouldn't be exepecting any late gifts from us an Bielsa will have had a few words in the last week about that sort of thing. Hitting us on the break? you'll need to get the ball first
Bloody excited for tomorrow's game, it's so nice having an atmosphere at The Valley after years of 200 away fans. Not particularly optimistic result wise but feel that's when we're at our best
Without this game there would have been no glory years. Arise Sir Lennie. Oh, and yes, I was at the game.
I'm going for a 2-1 win for us. Not because form says so, and Leeds have an arguably better starting XI than us today, but in recent years we have done better in these type of gamez. Just a feelin'
Big game today, with what should be a big game atmosphere. I’ll be on the look out for strange faces in the Covered End, including Leeds fans and @AllHellLetLoose
Ha ha ha. Lardi get a grip mate! This is the Charlton Bowyer built. May not be world beaters, but the old lay down and die Charlton is gone (for now!)
I'll hold my hands up and admit I was wrong to think Charlton had no chance of a result without Lyle Taylor in the starting XI. And I was wrong to say I felt that we are a one man team. I had no confidence whatsoever that anything other than an away win was going to happen at the Valley today. Well done to the team for competing with every ounce of effort today and claiming the reward for that. ~~~~~ Did our players raise their game because it was Leeds? If so, then the previous two defeats were all the more disappointing for being avoidable. Like Lee Bowyer, I would expect maximum effort regardless of who the opposition is. If every player gave 100% against Leeds today, why did some of them not do so against Birmingham and Wigan?
