Born fans were very p1ssed off with us after the game on social media for disrupting the game. Wasn't it only a few years ago that they had the padlocks shutting them out of their ground - shafted by their owner? Football fans should stick together in these circumstances, some have short memories.
I appreciated yesterday so much. The walk out was a tough decision (as I've said time and time again, first game in 15 years I have walked out of) and I understand those who didn't want to walk out. What I don't understand are the fans on both sides (walk out or sit in) who berated the others for leaving. I had some tell me I was wrong to walk out and clearly not supporting the team, and then in the West Stand Car park after 90 minutes some of the fans saying "Where were you when we walked out?" As fans we were united yesterday for the nation to see on TV, just a shame the walk out caused a bit of conflict between us. Oh and the guy who confronted JBG and then had to be dragged off while his mate realised he was on his own and walked off... what are you doing? If we had gone 1-0 down maybe it may have worked going on the pitch, but then to get dragged off like that after confronting your own player who has just got the assist... real smart mate
I don't agree with you about JBG. He has a very disparaging attitude towards Charlton fans, as he has exhibited both in the stadium, and on Twitter this season. The guy who went on the pitch has said on Facebook that he told JBG "show some f******g passion" - I think he spoke for many of us there. JBG had no business running up to him in the first place - it is the quickest he has moved across our pitch all season. Incidentally, the bloke has to appear in Court tomorrow but well played to him for showing some bollox yesterday
I thought JBG had a good game yesterday to be fair - can't tackle of toffee but was getting stuck in during the first half. He and Cousins were taking it to the very talented boro midfield. Atmosphere throughout was impressive - especially the first 5-10 mins. I didn't leave on the 74th due to entertaining guests, but some of the comments around me condemning the fans who did was staggering. Despite the positive result - I have seen nothing to suggest we will stay up. I'd like the see the pass competition stat is we seemed far too wasteful. The players are decent when counter attacking and they don't have time to think, but the shape was horribly disjointed and the option of a pass wasn't there a lot of the time. It's basic football.
The prolonged "We want Roland out" at the start made me think this could be the beginning of the end for the Belgians. 5 minutes continuous was emotional stuff.
