Most would have taken a point before kick off, just a pity it was an oh that foiled us.

Not able to kill off a game cost us second place, but we will get there, onwards and upwards.

We were excellent first half and comfortable. Og changed the game from what I listened to.

Nothing to get excited about especially as we were leading but can't whinge about an away point against a good side.

Luton at home next, looks another big one, lets put them to the sword. Good reaction to and from Maja to-day bye the way, well done to all concerned.

In the first half we were mostly on the attack and it was a team effort, in the second half it seemed like Watmore was our only threat, on the counter, as we were mostly pinned back. Too bad Watmore didn't do better with that cutback near the end of the match. He was so wide open, he waved for the ball with both arms, and that got him leaning back for the shot.

Good result but a few things frustrating me. That clinical side which gave us the edge over the rest of the league has been gone a while. Flat as a fart in the middle of the park yet again. Not enjoying Ross's style of football to be honest.

Unfortunate, but to be fair they bombed us second half for a good 30 minutes, we did well to hang on, still giving far too many free kicks away though. They must have got into double figures, I cant remember us getting one, need to be cleverer than this. <ok>

I have been a little disappointed with the style of play, I was hoping for a few of our better academy players making more of a contribution, as I think we have some good footballers at that level, we have been unlucky that both Robson and Hulme have been out so long with injury just when they looked like establishing themselves, and I was hoping to see others joining the queue but its not happening, the pressure is on us to get results, and I can understand the managers reticence, to some extent, not to take a gamble, and go with experience, limited as some of these players are, they are doing the job required of them, so far.

In the last match thead you spoke of a striker's instinct to run the near post anticipating the cross. In the first half, when a cross from the left was imminent, Wyke was running straight down the middle of the pitch, The central defender stepped up and squared up to Wyke, and Wyke just stopped, and he had space to run into at either post. Towards the end of the match, after Watmore carried the ball all the way down our left flank, he was trying to pick out Wyke, and there was space at the far post, but Wyke didn't take advantage of it. It looked like Watmore pointed that out to him after the ball went out of play. The physical presence is great and he defended well on set pieces, but does he have goals in him?

I understand why our midfield was flat in the PREM and Champ. The club had been ran ****e and CMS cost money in those leagues and we just stopped spending. But this season was a big chance to put some muscle and creativity in the middle of the park and we've failed on both accounts. When I played I was an attacking minded cm who threw my weight Inbetween my opponent and the ball and sprayed the ball about forwards. Probably why I'm frustrated lol.

Iirc Charlton have won their last five home games and we've restricted them to an og and a few long shots and goalmouth scrambles.
It's frustrating we didn't get a second goal before HT as I think we would had definitely gone on and won the game.
we have hit a sticky patch but every Team goes on a bad run but I wouldn't call this our bad run.
my worry is that if Josh goes then on today's showing Wy ke needs to get his shooting boots on and quickly, as does young Watmore.
Still a long way to go and an away point is always a good point.

We have not got that style of player ( a Graham Souness would do <laugh>), Power is possibly the closest we have, but he is Division One at best and not in any sense of the word dominant, Catts is not the answer either, but we have few real options. Owing to some poor defenders at the club, its here that I think we will strengthen, if we do any business at all in January, leaving us with the mid field players currently employed, I am looking to the future and hoping some of the younger untried players will make it before the end of the season. I think Mumba and Robson are possibly the best bets with Embleton in the mix also, can not understand why he has not been recalled, this gives rise to maybe we are looking to re-jig the mid field, it would be good to see.

We totally dominated the first half.
Wyke missed a few chances but it all changed in the second half.
We were hanging in there and they were all over us.
Watmore gave us more of a threat on the break and we had a great chance to win it at the end.
    I'm happy with a point.

Embleton is the man for me, gutted we've sent him back out on loan. Him paired with a bit of muscle picked up in the transfer market could see us dominating midfields. Losing patience with the likes of Mcgeouch and Catts.

I think today showed why I don't agree with posters blase attitude about Maja leaving. Saying we'll be just fine without him because it's not a hard league to replace him. That's crazy. He's the only clinical player that we have and I think he's going to be the difference between going up automatically and fighting it out in the playoffs.

Stewie D, needs to back JR, this window. We are limping, at the moment. We can get back on our feet and give it a good go, or we can carry on the way we are going and it won't be long before our luck gives up on us.

Just got in from the match and we were lucky TBH. Dominated for the first 15-20 mins and then they came on strong until half-time. They carried on where they left off after the break and missed couple of absolute sitters. Their goal was a bit jammy, but we were 2nd best until the last ten minutes when we suddenly got our mojo back and Dunc missed a gilt-edged chance near the end. Good point overall, from a difficult fixture.

Don't get more clinical than Defoe but we went down with him. If we go up we need forwards who aren't out of their depth outside the box. We'll struggle with a box striker next season up top on his own if we go up. Having a clinical striker isn't the be all and end all for me. Much rather have a forward who can move the team up pitch as a unit and bring more goals out of everybody.

Saying that Wyke and Maja has the potential to be a dream partnership should Maja stay and Wyke can get fit and stay fit. But mate. We can't force Maja to stay regardless of fan feelings. That's out of our hands unfortunately.[emoji852]️
