Over spending on wasters like Rodwell, etc, isn't a situation I want to return to tbh.

That will be enough to reach the playoffs
The last 5 seasons the 6th spot has been around 72 pts, this season may be late seventies, therefore 6 wins would take us to 78 pts
We really must win the next 2 games

Good point about open play. We need to be better in the final 3rd and in terms of taking our chances. Stewart is excellent, but he does seem our only real goal threat, which a massive problem. If Pritch is out lets get Neil into the 10 role and play through him instead of wide.

Or we put Broadhead in the middle & Clarke out wide if playing 4231, thats got to bring more of a goal threat, 2 strikers in the box when were attacking

Yeah, clean sheets a good shout but we need the big 3 each game now. Days like yday can be critical to cement the play off opportunity.

Nothing less than 9 points put of the next 3 will do, the two home games are must win and we owe Lincoln and a certain Chris Maguire one for January.

My take on yesterday after a long long day was that we played quite well in patches . Some of the one touch stuff was cracking to watch. I feel that we dominated the game but the final ball into the danger areas was just not good enough. We had plenty of chances to score a few free headers in the first half and then one off the line from Cirkin I think and Stewart through only for the keeper to save. It was one of those days when ricochets just didn’t fall for us or a deflection took the ball away from a waiting player. That said 3 points was needed and we didn’t get them but it just felt like one of those days where if you get one you will get 2 or 3. Other results went against us but we just have to keep battling away as there will still be lots of twists and turns for the play off places. Anyway it was good to meet up with friends again at Blackfriars and share some laughs. Next few games are crucial to our play off hopes. Pritchard looked crocked big style so it may be time for Dan Neil to step up after a rest. Anyway a tiring but enjoyable day out even if the result wasn’t what we deserved. On we go to Tuesday.

excellent summary Whitty, i may also add the ref was bias in my eyes especially when they threw themselves down all the time, and Patterson who i haven't heard mentioned yet is getting better and more dominant with every game, there were 2 i wouldn't have started with personally , but time will tell who our best 11 are as i feel we have not hit the correct blend yet, sometimes it just clicks with certain players and the full click is not there yet

Yes I agree with your comments about the ref let them get away with falling over all the time. Very weak. Charlton actually tried to rough things up 2nd half and put a couple of naughty tackles in. I couldn’t tell whether Pritchard trod on the ball or he was fouled when he was injured but they seemed to target him all game. Who would you not have started with Roger.

Evans and Gooch mate I haven't seen a strong game from Evans for a while, and Gooch spoils good moves with not looking up, or losing the ball trying to do too much, hes not a bad player but his final ball normally negataits any good work

The thing Gooch gives you is 100% every game and his versatility however he can be frustrating. I just don’t rate Evans and never have. I think we could have a future star in Matete. He is young and raw but could turn out to be a cracking player. Reminds me of Kante at Chelsea but obviously not at that level yet.

love watching Matete he will be a star , with Gooch i agree he gives 100% but what good is that if nearly every attack with him involved breaks down, we need goals so need to change to get them,i know Gooch splits the supporters view like no other player, hes a love him or leave him guy, time will tell, look at Arby who would pull him now, the next one will be who takes Goochies place

On the Charlton commentary yesterday they were saying Matete was a really good player and he will be moving on to a bigger club.

the stream i put up was from there, biased as **** every bad tackle they justified as par for the course, and the ex player who said that about Matete was just an enviouse arshole as everyone could see he is an outstanding talent.
