So happy tonight. I told my son at half time we were going to win - there was a feeling in the air, I'm sure. <magic>

Thuram 5 - terrifying - poor kicking - some good moments - bring back Hamer
Wilson 8 - tireless galloping - good crossing - first in the tackle
Wiggins 8 - praise the Lord - POTY
    Morro 6 - solid - too many long balls - set-piece threat
Dervite 7 - body on the line - nice passing
Green 6 - good effort - poor shooting - weakest link
    Cousins 6 - jaded - worked hard - needs a rest
    Poyet 9 - calm - collected - precise - star man
    Jackson 8 - everywhere - tackling - motivating - looks rejuvenated
Reza 7 - chewed up and spat out but continued to chase and hustle
    Church 7 - non-stop running - worked the channels - tracked back

Tudgay 7 - tidy cameo - worked hard - good signing
Asteroid 7 - sign him up - nice touch - can shoot
    Harriott - N/A

Powell 9 - right team - right tactics - Right on!

    I love evenings like this.

    COYR.

Happy to say that from my point of view the subs completely changed the game. Up untilthat point we were holding them but not really challenging. The introduction of Astrid and Tudgay, the change of format that went with that we became a threat that they couldnt deal with.

Still can not quite believe i saw us look like we wanted it, and that Powell got subs right for a change. Of course i hope this is the start of a revival, but at the moment i am just happy with a good result for a change

The best way to win a game, huge goal for us considering the other results today. Credit where it's due, Powell did well today, all 3 subs played their part. The only negative was Thuram, but even he made a crucial contribution with the save at 0-0. Had a huge grin on my face for 3 hours now, this is what Saturday nights are about.

Thuram reminds me of a cat. Has all the reflexes and skill there but at the same time is easily distracted by anything shiny and seems to have a permanent urge to chase an imaginary string.

You said it yourself an old school cafc performance. I and the other enlightened ones have been calling for that all season.

He isn't a bad keeper, he looked calm and assured, couple times flapped at a cross granted but most keepers do, he also produced a terrific save for the corner that we then scored from. He is defo a keeper better than Championship quality defo

Bringing Astrid on got rid of the ineffectual Green, and straightaway we had a more balanced partnership in midfield between the thoughtful Astrid and the dynamic Poyet. Tudgay added a bit of physical presence and experience up front, and the Harriotts provided an outlet on the left, enabling Jacko to get forward and score the winner. I give the manager credit where it's due, just as I criticise him on another thread for being negligent over Poyet.

Knew we would win fella's, stoked it came through and we have something to cling onto. Our next two results are key, i want us to win the Fa cup match and the next league game, then i will believe we may actually be climbing out of this.

May I remind everybody that one win does not equal survival BUT every journey, however long, starts with the first step.

I notice that on the QPR's website, Arry says how upset he was with Morrison's winning goal?....... JJ is our Captain for god sake!

A win in the next league game would be great, but if you offered me a point now I'd jump on it... the way Leicester are playing we can't read much even into a reverse

Being a bastard one could always criticise Powell for not playing the right selection from the startup, You can spin it anyway to you want, QPR were there for the taking and Powell set up not to lose, he just threw his hand in with the substitutions but they hardly were rocket science. Still he got it right or lucky, so one out of 28 is a start.

I can't see we should be throwing out contracts just yet, we are still in the clarts, and just as likely to get relegated as we were this time yesterday.

We did play an awful lot of long ball though to the two smallest strikers we've ever had against the four biggest defenders in the league.

Still I've smiled all the way into Sunday so who cares eh?

I would go so far as to say that Sir Chris achieved a career first yesterday - he actually won us a game with his subs. Astrid looks a cut above Championship standard, he is a bit like Dale Stephens with three Weetabix for breakfast. He also correctly identified that The Vicar was once again playing more like The Nun, and hooked him. Here is a confessional - I think Church is ****.

Danny Green proved yet again that he is a camp hairdresser masquerading as a footballer. Good bye Danny, and take your hair tongs with you to Burton Albion next season.

Hugely impressed with the potential of the Cousins and Poyet partnership. Worried that the Twitching Chequebook manager in the QPR dug out might get ideas about them.

Church and Reza does not work as a partnership.

Come to think of it, Church and Aguero would not work as a partnership.

Also feel sorry for Ben Alnwick. Thuram will never be a better keeper than him so long as I have got a hole in my backside.

Powell needs to play a diamond 4 in the midfield for the next 17 games - Astrid, Jackson, Poyet and Cousins.

    No more tinkering.

Off to Hillsborough tomorrow night <ok>
