Fans on twitter mocking the fact we had a shot on target. 'Sounds' like the fans have been massively let down. The only silver lining will be the return of solly and being able to push Wilson back to midfield. And that we have Morro to come back.
Is it me or did that starting line up (Harriott and Sodall up front, no Asteroid) look crap? Easy to be wise now, but just as I was growing into Jose, he shows the same tendancy toward bizarre line ups that CP did so annoyingly.
How is Sordell still on the pitch?! And why are we playing him upfront and Obika on the wing, its CLEARLY NOT WORKING! Barnsley look comfortable, we just haven't been good enough!
To top it off, let's see cousins or JJ get a straight red. That's me for the night. Will post tomorrow when calm again. Hope that those who went have a safe journey home.
GOAL! Jackson free-kick is eventually knocked in at the back post after being blocked on the line. 1-2
Full time 1-2 Hugely disappointing evening. A decent start, but two soft goals did for us and we struggled to create much despite a late goal. Problems. Not looking forward to hearing from those who were there.
Finally home...I think I've lost my voice from yelling at Sordell. Terrible game really, heads will have dropped and it'll be hard to pick them up now, it was a MUST WIN and we just didn't look good enough. Riga's starting line up and sub's didn't work, the honeymoon period is over. With 5 games to go we realistically need 2 wins to stand a chance of staying up...I don't even know where our goals are coming from let alone wins.
For the first time in my life i left before the final whistle, i wasn't feeling 100% before the match but that display was so inept that i feared an aneurism i was so angry. Nothing CP, Parkinson, Pardew, or Dowie did have led me to leave before the whistle but the team selection and the poor performance by two players in particular, both giving the ball away on a regular basis. One, who on the edge of the box facing two defenders in very close attention tried a stepover with the inevitable result. One couldnt be bothered to get back on side so was frequently out of the play. no matter how good cousins, poyet. Reza, jacko and. Solly were, they were sorely let down today.
I lost it today with the referee, not even p!ssed about the team performance, or Barnsley's excessive time wasting but the ref was poor, really poor, and crap, and might as well worn a fecking Barnsley shirt. Morro was a weird drop but I didn't think Wood or Dervite played badly, apart from Harriot and Sordell and I don't think anyone really played badly... shocking not to start Wilson, he would have buried the header Harriott missed at 0-0. Harriot should have started on the left, but nope, Obika and Harriott is crap at RM, should have been Wilson. Solly dependable as ever. Diego star man for how he left for the sub, was class act on the pitch too as always. Cousins did well, wiggins did well. Obika caused trouble, but not the messiah as people were making out when he signed. Sordell ran and caused trouble, first 3 mins very good, rest was poor. Hamer, distribution brilliant all night, absolutely class picking out runs etc. Referee, shocking scummy, poor, inconsitent, summed it up when Diego was shoved off the ball, no foul, less than 5 seconds later same challenge but by a Charlton player, Barnsley free kick. So angry today at the referee, we had the worse ref all season in the biggest game of ours.
