Well I tried claiming that I wasn't actually a Hull fan and that my amber and black outfit was purely a fashion statement. Surprised I wasn't arrested for sarcasm.

It hasn't over here though has it muppet. We are trying to convince the dinosaur establishment that we are level headed bunch of football supporters who can be trusted to behave ourselves and what do you get some dickhead lights a flare

'We' have been lighting flares at away games on and off for well over a year and long may we continue to do so.

It enhances the vibrancy of the occasion and adds a touch of colour in occasionally grim surroundings such as the New Den or the Reebok stadium.

I'm awaiting the coroner's stats on how many flare deaths or lethal conflagrations we have had at City games in the last 3 seasons. Likewise the thrown toilet roll stats and the resulting quantity of injured ballboys.

Listen knobhead, we have one of the lowest arrest totals in the division and there is virtually no trouble at football nowadays as anyone with half a brain knows.

This WYP police spat is **** all to do with us and our 'reputation' and everything to do with budgets, funding and a West Yorkshire pissing contest between the police and the football clubs.

    Everyone knows and understands that.

    Apart from you, it seems......

I can only speak from my own personal experience but I've got to say, all the Police I spoke to yesterday were polite, pleasant and helpful. I'd go as far as to say other forces could benefit from spending time with them to learn how to deal with football fans.

I also spoke with a few stewards who were also polite and helpful and VERY critical of some of their colleagues who they feel have an inappropriate attitude to people.

There were some bizarre situations yesterday, the stewards were pissing people off and the coppers were stepping in to calm the unnecessary Agro caused. It must piss them off.

Manchester plod generally have a decent reputation for policing games.

That was also my opinion as I, as always, took the opportunity to have a chat with the local constabulary and stewards. That was why I was surprised to see Charlie being so animated with the OIC and the steward in question being removed.

I wonder if it's because they have so many teams under their control they've learnt how best to deal with football fans? Learnt from their mistakes and improved as they've gone?

In all my years supporting the club West Yorks Police have always been BY FAR THE WORST at managing football fans.

I think it's a simple matter of respecting other humans beings and focussing on serving the public, whoever they are and whatever the circumstance. GMP has that culture WY doesn't.
