Stop talking like a idiot. What happened at Bradford had nothing to do with flares.
And, have you noticed foreign games with hundreds, and indeed thousands of flares going off with no one harmed?
No wonder the police walk over football fans with some of the soft sods that we have as supporters nowadays.
You would be better off getting indignant about the sort of fan who ends up getting fellow fans ejected because of his complaints. There was enough room to move if so done standing up bothered him. Have you noticed how nearly every other clubs fans stand up at away games with no fuss yet it is an issue with our fans, the numbers who are less than the other clubs whose fans all stand up.
As I said we have some real numpties as fans which is why we get treated like ****.

Other teams seem to ha e no problems at way matches when they are all standing so why do our fans act like twats towards fellow fans? The other teams have kids there as well.
No wonder the atmosphere at our games is so poor with these type of fans.

It isn't uncommon for other teams to have fans thrown out.

Though, I would agree, that if you go to an away game and expect to sit down, then you are a little foolish. Anyone moaning and complaining at people standing up is not particularly justified.

I think that stewarding is alot like the offside rule, Too many grey areas, and Not enforced equally throughout the country. I've been to away games and we've stood all game and had no bother from stewards, Which is great. However I've been to grounds where the stewards have played hell if your standing, Wich is why you get the anamosity toward them. Same with flares etc.
I think the standing issue would be made easier by not reserving seating (too an extent), So if fans want to stand they can head toward the back or a section of the stand, and those who want to sit can stay forward and so on.

I think the first three rows at away games should be reserved for the elderly, infirm, lazy or feckless.

The rest of the seats should be available to fans. <ok>

That probably wouldn't be very popular, given that certain sections of supporters would get as close to home fans as possible, causing more problems for the stewards etc...

I thought that a reasonable solution could be to offer tickets in two sections - the front 'X' rows, and the back 'X' rows. If you want to sit, then go for a front row ticket, as you are more likely to be able to sit. Though, of course, some people still want the best view, and to sit down.

It's about respect for other fans. When I go to matches with my chidren I try and sit near the front so that they are not affected by people wishing to stand. If I then get people standing in front of me I will tell them to sit down because they are spoiling the experience for my children. It's about give and take.

I agree, I always prefer to stand away from home, but if its obvious people around don't want to stand then sit down or move, don't act like a bell end about it.

    Of course they are.

That post was very much tongue in cheek, though I do think some attempt should be made to get those who want to sit at the front and those who want to stand at the back.

Strikes me as simple common sense.
