This 20-year old left-back has been pulling up trees on loan at Fleetwood Town this season, and he has been a key figure in their push for promotion from League Two. He is highly regarded by the manager Graham Alexander, who knows a thing or two about playing at full-back, so he's learning from a good man.
Like Dawson, he looked a bit small when he made his Leeds debut but he has grown and looks strong now. He has tremendous pace, and a sweet left foot reminiscent of one Ian Harte. High praise indeed!!
I watched him play at Scunthorpe on Monday night in an important top of the table clash, and he was outstanding. Besides his constant threat down the left flank with his pace scaring defenders and his crosses putting the Scunny goal under pressure, he was always involved and contributing.
He cut inside in the second half and won a penalty (missed by the striker), and also came flying across his box to win the ball from a low cross that the Scunny striker simply had to tap in after the defence was beaten on the break. It came as no surprise that Taylor was named man of the match, even though the Scunny keeper did a Schmeichel and kept them in the game, a 0-0 draw.
So, do we leave Taylor on loan at Fleetwood, or do we recall him and blood him at Championship level now?
Fleetwood
Pros - very good manager to learn his position from; challenging for automatic promotion so lots of pressure to cope with; plays every week and is getting stronger all the time; starting in League Two so his confidence in his own ability keeps growing
Cons - none that I can think of
Leeds
Pros - if we are safe but no chance of promotion, playing Taylor for the last ten games will help him to settle in and understand what McD wants from him; he will be an improvement over what we currently have at left-back; give him dead ball responsibilities with his left foot and let him grow
Cons- he gets left on the bench and wastes valuable development time; we then throw him in next season a la Mowatt and he gets hurt
Another quality prospect from our Academy, and one I expect to become a star player, hopefully with Leeds.

Glad he's doing well as left back is a hard position to fill!
