Charlie just looks like he needs a break although our dopey manager decided to field him against the Blades and then harp on that we are playing too many games over the Christmas period Inane thread, marked only more inane by me spending time replying to it!
We usually do a little better than that! A rumour from an 'ITK', a snippet from Twitter or a link from News Now. Speculation from a player's (tired) body language involves a lot of inference.
People forget that he was playing in the Southern League Premier four years ago. Imagine all the step ups he's had to take, not only in technical ability but also fitness as well. To me, he just looks extremely tired. I think fans underestimate the physical prowess it takes to play at the top level (hence all this "I wish I worked 9 hours a week" nonsense). Add that to the fact he's come a long way in such a short space of time and it would have an effect on most players. Then add the fact that he's working harder than most strikers in the league playing for us, and well, what do you have? He never should have played against Sheffield United in my opinion.
You could be right or you could be wrong I think you need that blouse Why worry about stuff you don't know? It's a real sign of mental illness nip it in the bud and treat yourself to a nice skirt
After yesterdays performance...no one will come knocking for Austin in January...he needs to prove himself again... a week is a long time in football as Harold Wilson once said
He hasn't scored in 3 games. 3 GAMES! We play 40 games a season and he doesn't score in 3 of them and all of a sudden he's leaving? He's still scored 4 goals in his last 5 ffs. This is the most bizarre logic I've ever seen.
If we stay up he should stay and we then need to get some players to help support him because the last few games now even at home he's been left quite isolated and not getting the deliveries he Thrives on. I.E crosses from Isla and Vargas where half his goals have come from this season.
If they came knocking with 20 million and if the club agreed then he would be off, but it would be our choice. I'm saying it's total bollocks to say "Charlie hasn't scored for 2 games so that must mean he wants to leave"! Football is Football and nowadays clubs at the top are prepared to spend silly money on someone because they're having a good season. If someone did stump up 20 million I think we'd probably take it, cause we could then buy 4 Austins. But there's no guarantee that A) 4 Austin's would be enough and B) Austin would replicate what he's achieved with us at another club. Personally I think Austin will be here at the end of the season, probably next season too if we stay up. But the fact is the days of players signing long contracts and sticking till the end are long gone. The end game has changed and all they want now is the glamour of the Champions League.
