Unfortunately Charlie will go i'm sure. What a pleasure to see the contrast with him and Sterling. With his recent interviews of looking forward to getting fit and playing Charlton and his with QPR unless he is told otherwise.So id wish he well where ever he ends up, a true professional and for the moment he is ours

But I know the signing on fees for (sought after) free agents are ridicously high, it is a bidding war between clubs and still a cheaper way of signing players than buying them for an outright fee. So both his signing on fee and wage would be higher signing as a free agent. In my opinion he could fetch anything between £5 and £10 million in signing on fee alone as a free agent, depending on how attractive a prospect he is. I appreciate that he might be a less of an attractive prospect in twelve months time, after one season in the Championship though, something he needs to take into consideration of course.

If he was a free agent now then he would probably be looking at around £5m, but like you say after a season in the Championship that'll go down, you also have to consider his medical risk, he didn't fail his medical at Hull for no reason, there is an issue there that could crop up. A season in the Prem with higher wages and bonuses, better prospects from sponsors and compensation from us selling his contract would probably work out more money for him along with a better chance of getting in the England squad.

Another reason is this .... There will be new emerging stars that come under the radar next season and names get forgotten very quickly because the hype will turn to a fresh face ... It's England remember and stars are made and destroyed in minutes

Jermaine Hylton: Swindon Town charged by FA for signing

Swindon Town have been charged by the Football Association over the signing of Redditch striker Jermaine Hylton.

Hylton, 22, signed for Swindon on a free transfer in January from the Southern League club, where he scored 45 goals in two seasons.

Redditch complained to the FA about the approach for Hylton and League One Swindon have now been charged.

Hylton made 11 appearances for Swindon last season, scoring one goal, after years in non-league football.

A statement from the FA read: "It is alleged that on or around 1 January 2015, Swindon Town FC approached a player, Jermaine Hylton, without giving seven days' formal written notice to Redditch United FC, the club to which he was registered."

Charlie is a good finisher and I like him a lot.
But he isn't good enough to play at International level imo and he certainly isn't as good as Rooney, Sturridge, Wellbeck or Kane.

Norway is probably the least deluded person that I've ever met.
 
I completely agree with Norway in the sense that Austin still has a hell of a lot to do to earn a place in the England squad. He only got the call up when Kane, Sturridge, Berahino and Welbeck were all out; and all four are ahead of him in the pecking order. He'd have to start extremely strong at any club he plays for next season to even get a sniff; because at international level and the way England play, he's not good enough to oust Rooney and he can't play wide of a 3 like all of the above.

agree with this. 15 million for him is excellent business. We should be able to unearth a few decent new players for that money and have a more balanced squad as a result. Sell, sell, sell.

Im in the "he will be gone before the window closes camp" as much as i like Charlie he has not got a hope in hell of forcing his way into this England squad, not getting any game time when half the regulars are either out injured or playing for the u23's means when there all back he will be a distant memory for old woy.
 
We'll let Swindon Town develop Jermaine Hylton, then we can nab him if he proves to be a gifted goal-scorer that Charlie proved to be moving up from non-league to Premier League play.
 
West Ham are considering offering QPR a players plus cash deal for their star striker Charlie Austin.

Rangers have slapped a £15million asking price on Austin, but West Ham are hopeful of circumventing that fee by using Matt Jarvis or Kevin Nolan as possible makeweights.

QPR tried to sign Jarvis during the January transfer window and could be tempted.

Do you think there is the possibility of keeping him, now that you're getting £9m? gamble that 12-15m to go for the promotion prize, because he'll score the goals you'll need, and you have the option of selling him in the January panic sales.
I'm worried about the Nolan part of the deal, including him might push the price up
 
Jarvis was wanted by us before all the management/coaching staff changes. No guarantee that this lot will still want him. West Ham fans can't wait to see the back of him from what I have read in other places.

Nolan too old if we accept that we are building a team for the future - whether in the Championship or (heaven forbid) in the Prem in 12 months time.

The deal might suit WHU - getting a striker on the cheap and offloading one (or two?) at the same time - but I do not think that it would be good business for us.
 
I've been told his agent is currently in talks with Crystal Palace!Pretty reliable source,and we've been seeing a lot of money this week on him to go there.Of course at the end of the day it's down to whether we wish to sell him,and if he wants to go there should we agree a fee!

According to the London Evening Standard, West Ham United could offer up Kevin Nolan and Matt Jarvis in exchange for Charlie Austin.
As offers go, that's a tempting one. And, in all likelihood, it's one of the better if not best QPR will get for the striker - providing there is enough cash on the table to go with the Hammers duo.
Not only will West Ham be paying good money for Austin, QPR will be receiving players in exchange who can fill gaps in their squad.
Jarvis is a capable winger who the Standard claim the R's wanted back in January, while Nolan would offer experience aplenty for a Championship side.

Austin is virtually guaranteed to give QPR goals galore should he stay with the R's and, judging by all the latest signs, the 25-year-old is more than happy to stay with the club.
While West Ham's reported offer is potentially a tempting one, then, it's one that will benefit the Hammers far more than it would QPR. And it's one they should ultimately reject should it get to decision time.
