You'll need a big bloke to play next to him (yes he is big but doesn't play like one) ora very fast midfield to get the ball to him.
 
I think we will rely on pace from wide areas under SM, we could also bring in Andy Carroll.
 
Austin has no pace and doesn't hold it up well, but he will score goals with the right service. All he needs to thrive is a good supply of crosses.

And all we are demanding is £20 million - I hope. If Chelsea are interested we should get close to that, but letting Adel go for nothing to a CL Club doesn't give grounds for optimism
 
Did anyone see this from the BBC football Gossip column today? Made me chuckle anyway...

QPR striker Charlie Austin has been linked with a move to Newcastle but he does not appear to be too impressed. He tweeted "Honestly where do people get this stuff from" before quickly deleting it.

If Charlie goes to that muppet club then he deserves to end up like Remy. I think that Charlie is actually a scum fan so i guess he won't mind sitting on the bench listening to sounds of silence from the home fans and to return a few years later and no one knowing who he is (like the rest of the ex -players).
Can't believe we let Remy go to them, and it still saddens me to see him there. That club is everything that is wrong with football. It's owner, the racist players and fans. Will never respect them as a real club like Arsenal/Spurs/West Ham. They simply have no class to be a top club, just some dodgy Russians play thing.

Austin was one of the few bright spots for Rangers last season, scoring 18 goals in the league including a hat-trick against West Brom, and eventually being called up to Roy Hodgson's England squad for the games against Republic of Ireland and Slovenia, although he didn't appear in either match.

Lot of supposition in there, but for the right price and as Tim said on another thread, we'll take Bamford on loan as well......thank you Mr Banker......Deal.
 
Betfair now have Austin 13/8 to join Chelsea

Which, if I have my odds calculation right (Stroller will correct), is about a 4 in 5 likelihood

Quite a lot of gossip/talk from twitter and news outlets that he could be going to scum. I think i am going to be sick.:emoticon-0119-puke:. If he goes there i shall never want to mention his name again.

Which in English is a 2 out of 3 chance

So you just divide down the 13/8 fraction

I had it in mind I had to add 13 to 8 and put the resulting 21 under the 8.

...back to the drawing board

PS may be I should have put the 13 over 21. Which gives something like a 3 in 5
