I think the operation he has to have is called a puty plat. Basically a screw in the shoulder to tighten the muscle. 3/4 months is about the time frame for recovery if it is the same op as I have had, before you can play any sport.

Young whippersnapper. I think Beddy and I might give you a few years. Not my 60's really. 1964 = The Yardbirds for me. Great decade to be young though (being in my 20's I was bleedin' ancient.)
