Sorry, that wasn't clear. I meant that age was probably a factor as to why he wasn't much of a scorer in his previous seasons.

Could we not shift Dembele from Celtic with a decent sized bid? I know he only joined in the summer (when we should have bought him) but money talks...

Do you know how much they bought him for? He's got to be this years Celtic buy!

What has happened to Sakho at West Ham? Always thought he looked decent but never seems to play for them now

His contract at Fulham had run out, so he was free.

Blimey they did well there. I wonder how much we'd have to offer to tempt Celtic then. £10m? More?

Just realised this isn't the January transfer window thread. My bad.

    Get well soon Charlie!

Could be a silver lining: If Jay Rod gets some consistent games it could build confidence, he could rediscover his goal scoring form before that injury. Same with Long (minus the injury). Though a new striker in January does make sense. I don't post very often, well hardly ever but I keep an eye on you lot! There's a few on here, the fickle fan, slating our board. Do people still not realise how far we've come in a short amount of time? Appreciate what you have, we aren't Manchester City! This is arguably one of the Saints strongest ever squads and it could be a lot worse. These fickle few are the worst thing about our club in my opinion. You probably won't hear from me for another decade, so cheer up and have a good Christmas! #WeMarchOn

Apparently we were close to signing Sébastien Haller in August .......so because of Charlie's injury we could be interested agin?

    This, this and this again!!

Been banging on about him for a while now, and while they won't be keen to sell in January, they're out of europe and can still coast the league without him.

Teams up there always need the money. 10-15m would do it I reckon.

I don't think we'll be top of his list of suitors somehow. His move up there was a very clever in that he wasn't ready for a top-team, but moved to the best team in their league, and played Champions League football. Clearly a stepping stone for Celtic but wouldn't be surprised if they get £15-20m off Liverpool or someone. They won't sell 6 months after buying him

If the moneys right I think they would.

How often do the likes of Liverpool buy directlly from Scotland?

The process is he comes to the south coast, impresses and then gets his move to a big club ;)

Gutted for Charlie and somewhat shocked at the estimated time he'll be out. Was thinking a month, 6 weeks tops. Will an operation cure him of the likelihood of getting another discolation or will the risk still be the same if he just rested for a month and came back?

Not that I doubt the medical experts, but I am.

Isn't this his 3rd shoulder dislocation? He must have a basic structural problem....shoulders are buggers to get right as its a joint that has to move in several directions.

Sadly once you **** up your shoulder socket it gets weaker and weaker. Even if you have a op to fix the joint.

My uncle has the same problem after 5 ops and has just given up. Just lifting gis arm above his head makes it pop out.
