Two footed off the ground, straight RED in the English Premier League - wonder why Bugs Bunny Suarez got for this tackle...?

Must have done, at last 3 matches anyway for a straight red I'm guessing.

On Scholes, I've seen him do much worse than Adam, I'm sure we all have. For all his strengths he's a nastly, cowardly player. Example - he deliberately took a running kick into Alonso's calf off the ball once.

And, once again, there's comments on YT trying to say Adam is somehow justified in going for his ankle because he's skiving the Titanics.

Thanks for helping nip that one in the bud, BBC...

i find alot of my fellow spurs fans to be very patient when it is much easier to tell these dimwits to fuk off who think Bale deserves all he should get for not going to the Olympics.

personally i hope he feigned an injury so as not to be involved with that shower of **** called Team GB....he did us a favour..the olympics dont need Bale to rip Joe Public off they can do it themselves and leave our players at Spurs thanks.

Dont need an idiot like Pearce trying to educate Bale..and all these people making noise i hope they put their money where their mouth is and go and buy the hundreds of surplus tickets remaining for the watch paint dry events at the Olympics..biggest gimmick in world sport for me...it lost its soul so lost all meaning..well done Bale.

i hope someone breaks Adams legs this year....he crocked Silva of City aswell....anyone with a pinch of talent and that fukin tramp tries to cripple him..i hope he gets the most vile abuse when he comes to the Lane.

Horrible, horrible tackle that. I also remember Adam's tackle on Parker for his 2nd yellow at WHL earlier in the season. If parker hadn't jumped then he could have ended up as a spectator for the rest of his career.

  6. That's the one I was trying to remember - thanks!

Its time Referees looked more closely at the gapped toothed Jock, but of course he will continue to get away with it because he plays for The Mousers.

Grow up. So there's a conspiracy now?

Everyone knows the refs belong to United, don't be so silly.

There have been far worse incidents that have happened to players. Stephen Hunt could feasibly have faced Manslaughter charges had Cech not been saved.

Eduardo could have sued Martin Taylor and probably have won.

Do you Spurs fans live in the Highlands or something? Where have you been?

  10. The Hunt incident was clearly accidental and I don't think anyone on here is saying that there haven't been worse incidents. It just happens to be a bad foul committed by a thug who appears to go out of his way to target one particular opponent.....

Is he expected acknowledge every worse injury sustained before he can talk about one on a Spurs player?

I'll answer it for you. No of course he's not, the comment was fine and DL's contribution predictably ignoring what was actually being said with a cheap shot at Spurs fans added in.

Chill out YV I didn't say that was the case and the last bit was said in jest.

I just think there has been an overreaction. When I heard about the challenge I was expecting a Ben Thatcher-esque bone crunching tackle.

It was a bad tackle but Bale is okay and will live. The same may not of been said about Cech or Eduardo for instance.

I thought the tackle when at Blackpool was far worse and worthy of a ban but this one doesn't warrant the overreaction it's had IMO

Sorry pal, but not for the first time, you're talking absolute bollocks! This is not about degrees of culpability, this is about a thug - calling himself "a Professonal" who deliberately ( on more than one occasion) went out to seriously injure a fellow professional. Adam is a disgrace to the game, and if I had my way, his sort would be given a lifetime ban. If not brought to book, it's only a matter of time before this mindless thug finishes somebody's career with one of his "challenges"

Yeah and I'm sure the US dropping the Atomic Bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki was accidental...

Hunt knew what he was doing, he deliberately left his foot in to let Cech know he was there. He maybe didn't intend to cause the extent of damage but certainly meant to leave his mark and he never once apologised to Cech, the same thing Adam is rightly being criticised for.

Anyway that's a story for another day.

Bale is okay that's the main thing, he's not seriously injured as feared

The one at Blackpool is the reason that this one's had this reaction, DL.
Adam's ridiculous challenge on Parker at WHL last season probably contributed, too.

The challenge itself was poor and looked pretty cynical, but it's the pattern of behaviour that's being criticised, as well as the total failure to apologise for it.
It makes it look like a deliberate attempt to injure one player, even if that's not the case.

I understand your anger. I fully supported Arsenal when they pushed for a more lengthy/permenant ban for Martin Taylor and I wanted Hunt banned for life but once you stop and think about it how do you prove players have deliberately tried to injure professional players? If Roy Keane or Ben Thatcher didn't get a permenant ban we most likely won't ever see one

Okay I understand, I thought it was just this one tackle. It makes more sense now you've fully explained. If its an accumulation of these type of fouls then it should be looked at

Just in case anyone can't remember the foul that saw Adam pick up a 2nd yellow at WHL last season:

You replied to someone talking about the Blackpool Adam foul, complete with picture.

As PNP says though, it's the accumulation of all the **** challenges Adam has made against our players that has caused the reaction. The fact that he made no attempt to apologise or see if Bale was okay whilst he was on the ground and he was making a dangerous, cynical challenge in a friendly, adds to it also.
