The building game has changed somewhat from when the clerk would come round with the wage packets on Friday, everyone would feck off to the pub and that would be that until Monday.

In fairness, the write up of last night’s meeting on CL is an informative one.

We all know where we stand with GFP / SE7 now.

There is going to be no spend on new players.

Any posts from fools like Hawtrey along the lines of “let’s see where we are in January” can be seen already for what they are - WUM’ing.

Read the room Charles …if not the minutes from last night :emoticon-0148-yes:

The success of the Academy is the key to their plan, plus marginal gains in off field activity, which in reality depend on on field success.

They won’t be selling many £7 half time pints if the team languishes in mid table or worse again this season.

Our club being reunited with its assets remains a distant pipe dream - an anathema to those of us who took on Greenwich Council & the Sunleys over this in the 80s.

Personally, I will never be reconciled to any owner that doesn’t have the intention or the means to secure the club’s long term future, by re-purchasing its assets.

The current lease will be up for renewal before long, with every prospect of the team still being in the third tier of English football, with limited collateral in terms of player assets. Without a complete change in mindset if the current owners are still here then, the future of the club will be right up in the air again, just like in the 80s.

The clueless SMT have bet the farm - and the possible future of the club- on Nathan Jones *somehow* achieving a quick promotion with this squad before the investors enthusiasm and money runs out.

It’s a high wire act, to say the least.
