Decided to give a bit of money to charidee yesterday, wanted to help the homeless so split between Shelter and Crisis. Will you be donating to any and if so which?
Instead of making yourself feel good by giving to the homeless charity, although it's a good cause in principal, try doing something far more positive by voting and encouraging others to vote Labour With a decent man like JC in charge homelessness will be banished to the history books.
I can't see him getting elected so he can promise everyone a free unicorn if he wants. The last Labour government didn't solve homelessness, admittedly it's worse now. It is shocking that anyone is sleeping on the streets when we could so easily provide a basic roof-over-the-head for anyone who needs it. Wonder how many will die this winter as we are sat in our warm homes tucking into our turkey/nut roast washed down with Carling/cider/something drinkable?
Labour Lib Dem colation backed by SNP, greens, the Welsh ****s ... However, more likely a Tory slim majority backed by other like-minded ****s
Same mess again. Different **** up front this time tho who is desperate for a no deal exit ... On the topic of thread , I give to British lung foundation, Maggie's and shelter .
Can't knock anybody for giving to charity, so a big thumbs up for that. I'd suggest you'd have been better off spending that money on food that you could cook up and walk about your local city centre on Christmas day handing it out and spending time with the people on the streets
They pretty much did actually. Remember when Lincoln’s Inn Fields was a tented village? That was on Thatcher’s watch. Blair promised to provide enough hostel places so that no one has to sleep on the streets, and he did. Now walk under any bridge in any city in England and you’re tripping over rough sleepers. Because we have a Tory government.
Below are the "official" stats however every charity and help group connected with homelessness report much higher figures in recent years. please log in to view this image Vote Labour you ****ing mongs.
It used to be pissed up Jocks sleeping rough in London but after decades of public service erosion you will find mental health patients who have been turfed out of hospitals as part of the care in the community initiatives, ex-services who receive inadequate support when they rotate back into civilian life and a high number of foreign nationals who don't have the wherewithal to fund a return back to their own country. On top of that you have the usual suspects, the drunks & drug addicts who don't have their faculties about them and are notoriously hard to rehabilitate. Not sure who we will wake up to in Government on the 13th December but rough sleepers hasn't featured much in any of the political speeches I've seen so far.
The amount of unused buildings across Glasgow and other Scottish cities /towns is shocking ... Wasting away ...derelict The Scottish government should be stepping in and working with owners to get some off them into use as homeless shelters and transition houses ...give them an address to start getting benefits and to look for jobs.
That sounds like a great idea, if it works we could send back all the Jakeys living on the streets of London!
Buckingham Palace could easily house about a thousand for starters. Kick Liz and her paedo family out, they can go and live in Scotland in their other castle. ftp GSTQ
A bit pointless as this is a policy for affordable homes to buy. How many homeless people are going to be snapping up any of the proposed new houses? Didn't see anything in the manifesto page to suggest what Labour would do to get people off the streets. Last year they wanted to pledge money only if it got a bit nippy and only for temporary shelters.
