:emoticon-0106-cryin Pretty sad to see Chaplow go, although it is obviously inevitable, pretty much played his heart out for both promotions to make himself redundant! Hope he gets a club better than Millwall.

The only memory I have of Forren is having to watch "Liverpool TV" to catch his performance for the U21's.

I am still scarred by the experience of having to watch Liverpool TV.

    Good riddance.

Could Wanyama have been signed as a centre-back then? Personally I don't think he would have been, but it is one potential option

No. Lovren was signed as a centre-back, Wanyama as a midfielder. Wanyama can play there but I highly doubt that's why we signed him.

Wanyama is better at centre back than all our centre backs. If we don't sign another centre back there's a chance he'll play there

I sort of doubt it! But yes, he may end up there on the odd occasion if we don't get another one.

I doubt it. If we're spending over £10m on someone, we're not gonna play them out of position, we'd just spend £10m on a CB.

He won't play there. That would be such a waste.

Thanks Chappers. You weren't blessed with the greatest talent, however I wish some of the others had 20% of your heart and effort. You were a great servant and gave your all to the club and played an important role in our two promotions. You were particularly immense in the run of games up until you injury at Brissle.

Hope it works out for you, you are quite possibly the best bit of 50k business done in football.

Seems good to let Forren leave if he wasn't impressing Poch. The signing never really made sense to me being finished about half an hour after we'd sacked Nige and brought in MP. So possibly an experiment gone slightly bad, but hey there's always a risk when you sign players. As for the rest, it seemed like Hooiveld was preferred in the second half of the season so I'd expect him to stay. If we sign another one, which seems quite likely, then one who can play/cover at full back would fill two holes.

When we beat Boro 3-0 at home he was immense. Ran nearly the whole length of the pitch with the ball to put Fonte in but he missed. Thanks for everything Chappers.

That's the best game he ever had. I was there for that. He was pretty awesome that game.

This, again complete conjecture and based on no evidence whatsoever, was what I thought when I heard. Assume it is a decision for non football reasons as he seems to be a decent player. The fact that he is going back to molde made me think it is either this or family reasons, not sure if he is married but a players family can have a lot of influence on where they play their football.

Wanyama hasn't been signed to play CB, but it definitely is an option if the situation calls for it. I'm 50/50 on whether we actually need to sign another CB with this in mind.

It makes Chris Samba's transfer look a success in comparison! <laugh>
