Yes, it's awful when people sit behind their keyboards and give it large . That's why I don't do twitter, and just stick to good old Not606..... Oh, wait.....
Nice one Chappers! Chappers may not be first choice but remember that this is a squad game not a team game especially in the Premier due to number of suspensions that are handed out due to the diving cheats that foul the referees. Everyone in the squad is vitally important and I see Chappers high energy, no nonsense style working well for us when we have to hang onto a lead or to grab a point away from SMS
There is no doubt that Chappers did not have the same type of game, he used to have, for what ever reason, towards the end of the season. We can all speculate as to why. I am not sure why those last few games should rule him out of a squad number this year. In my opinion we do not have someone to replace him as such......or have I missed something on the way through?
he is certainly the sort of chap you need in the trenches... and believe me, we will be in some trenches this season.
Like many on here, I watched a lot of games last season home and away and I really do see Chaplow having part to play. It's a squad game and he's very important. Personally i've always thought he delivers more than De Ridder but I know i'm in the minority (in the same way that I think Guly has a huge infleunce).
Chaplow along with Butterfield (squad players) Are just as important if not more than Lallana and Lambert for their consistant morale boosts and Keeping the dressing room a happy place..
Before his injury he was our best player. A good pre-season under his belt and I'm confident he'll get plenty of game time.
mmm. before the injury he was playing very well, not sure about best player. What he did give us was "tempo"
We are very quick to write off player without giving them a chance. Hammond and others got slated before starting in the Championship and now look where we are! Chaplow held is own and scored against a decent Utd side 2 seasons ago. If he starts against City then i wouldn't be disappointed.
I think the deciding factor is This, Whether NC and NA consider Chaplow enough to compete.. Or just to battle it down the bottom of the premier league..
I think some people are forgetting how well he did against Man Utd in the cup a couple of seasons ago. He aint scared of the big boys.
Not very professional of him in my opinion. I'd rather our players didn't call people dicks (even if they are).
I remember on one occasion during one week of TFLS, and Maniche asked Steve Claridge of Chaplow's super form, and he said that he was simply not the same player that he'd been since the beginning of his career. I believe he said that he was unrecognisable from that previous player, he was so good. Chaplow commented on Twitter something along the lines of... what the hell does he know..? Well, apparently quite a bit, because a few weeks after that comment, Chappers got himself an injury which kept him out of the team, and after recovering from it, he went back to being something more like the player of his earlier career, which meant he was never going to be a first choice player to start a game.
