There has been a lot of stick recently about bad chants/songs e.c.t so instead I was wondering If we could liven up the mood by remembering are favourite good ones :)

my personal favourites are the FIISSSSSSSSHHHHH chant and the old Semedo song !

Top thread!

Jason Euell's "gold" was a good'un. Jorge Costa too. Blank mind currently as catching up on homeland. Oh, "we've got do canio, you've got our car stereo" was good fun.

My favourite was the simple but effective "ooh Scott Parker". Reminds me of much happier times when we were crushing teams like Chelsea.

Goodbye Horse - takes me back about forty years...:emoticon-0100-smile

And it confuses the Hell out of opposition fans.

Opposition fans? I have no idea why we sing it, every time I hear it I ask my dad and he goes a bit... don't know son, always have done.

I like "you'll never get a job!" when sung to the tune of never walk alone
OR
"you live just around the corner!" was one particular song I liked when we used to play Man United
Euell's song wins hands down though!

When the red red robin goes bob bob bobbin

Goodbye Horse also good, along with variations. <ok>

Euell, Costa, Solly. All about affection for the player and a relationship with the fans. Kermit, Morro and Jacko also currently good. As for banter liked sit down Pinnocio, only sing when you're drawing, woolwich rejects.
I love Brighton's "We hate Palace more than you" and was at Fans Utd day when I believe it was first aired. (Had we played on the Friday night? There were loads of us there.)

Was that the game when brighton hammered hartlepools?

Steve gritt, Steve gritt, Stevie Stevie gritt
he's got no hair we don't care Stevie Stevie gritt!

Preston away last season. The away fans split between the left side and the right side and then the two sides sang abuse at each other (the left side family, we pay your benefits etc).

I thought it was good.

That was it. They were still at the Goldstone, just, Belloti and Archer were in the process of selling it. We sang Stevie Gritt all the way through (again affection and a relationship with the fans). There were lots of Chelsea (Matthew Harding had just died) but even more of us. They chose a day when there was no top flight games, we weren't in the top flight which is why I think we'd played on Friday night.
Funny what you remember.
I lived down there at the time and retain a great deal of affection for the Seagulls.

That was a brilliant day, went to the one at Gillingham and a Wimbeldon one at sell out park, but neither quite matched the first one!

When we relegated Norwich along with us to League one and the whole ground sang
"Stand up if you're going down!"

I hated the Nicky Bailey chant as being of a strawberry blonde persuasion once it started I had an uncomfortable minute of waiting for the 'punchline'.

When the red red robin goes bob bob bobbin

There were a few outbreaks of Goodbye Horse on Saturday, but it just doesn't sound right in a Scottish accent , and I don't expect it would sound quite right in an Irish accent either. Great song though.
