Again a selective and misleading interpretation...I found it boring but I learnt - how does this become 'hated'?
Eh, you know what I meant, what I meant to say was "How can you have found it boring?"
I would hope that maybe you (and I mean you collectively as representative of your particular group of supporters rather than personally) will understand why many (and way beyond Saints fans) find the behaviour of your club unacceptable and the attitude of a sizeable proportion of your fanbase abhorrent.
Certainly I think every Portsmouth fan on Not606 does find what our ownership has been engaged in so abhorrent, why do you think Chainrai's so unpopular? Though I feel it's important here to make the distinction between Portsmouth Football Club and the board of directors and owners as it is the latter who involved in all the awful decisions: the over paying of players salaries, screwing over the local community and charities, etc.
Yes - I generalise in exactly the same way as you have and probably with a similar cross-section of opposing fans to draw my experience from. I believe I stated that early on?
I didn't make any generalisations in the post you quoted? The only thing that can be classed as generalisation is the assertion that most Portsmouth fans were supportive of Southampton the old 606, but that's based on what I can (vaguely) remember.
I don't pretend to like the fanbase of a rival club in a generalised way, that I use mildly mocking terminology - but my post indicates clearly that I have friends and acquaintances who are - you have made the assumption that because of this I must be blinkered - that my point re the reasons that I feel that wrong has been done is damaged - does that not seem a little ironic to you in this context?
There have been plenty of forummers who have use such terminology in a serious rather than mildly mocking way. At the end of the day it's the intention of it's usage that determines whether something is offensive, not necessarily the terminology itself so as I was unsure if you meant it in a serious way. So yes, I'll concede this point.
and the actions of the 'dear to your heart' club create only feelings of revulsion and betrayal of the spirit of the game so I'm unlikely to show respect..on a Saints forum or any other!
Well, again this really comes down to making a distinction between the owners who have acted in totally unethical manner and the club itself (which is far bigger than just being the board). Frankly, any reasonable Portsmouth fan will no doubt be incredibly embarrassed by what previous owners have done in the name of our club, I know I am.
would be to liquidate them and start again with a less-soiled model...if there was a groundswell of feeling towards this then maybe you (collectively remember?) can start to think about the word 'respect' again.
To be fair, I agree. Our club's reputation has been utterly destroyed, and I've been in favour of Plan B (re-forming) for months, although unfortunately it's too late now for this season (And I'm aware you don't mean me personally).
