Wow. That St Mirren thing looks bad. If it turns out to be entirely true, then we might expect to hear howls of outrage from Rangers fans (and fans of other clubs, come to think of it) and all sentient members of the press. One thing that has disappointed me in the Rangers brouhaha, though, is the sheer volume of her fans who have dismissed any and all bad news with a snarling disdain at every turn. Their seeming inability to fairly compute the evidence as it began to mount was a thing of desolating wonder. How on earth do people become like this? It depresses the hell out of me. The press must take large parts of the blame for stunting the minds of those fans who refuse to countenance all but the views they want to be true and all but the views they already agree with, perhaps, but there surely comes a point where personal responsibility and an ability or desire to think clearly and honestly must press upon even the dullest of minds? That's always been my hope, anyway, but the graceless anger and chippy defiance of certain Rangers fans has tended to blunt my optimism. But there we are. Someone brought down the Tax Case site? Hmm. There is no way this will start any conspiracy theories.....
