Did nobody else read the interview where Fergie said he saw himself as a left back?

A great little player. I only hope he manages to keep his feet on the ground and his head out of the clouds. It could be so easy for him to get carried away with all the publicity that is bound to go his way.

He seems to being coping well enough with it at the moment though.

May have said that as it's currently a quicker route into a regular 1st team spot with the uncertainty around Jose. He's much more likely to get a start at LB than on the LW with Jonas in the side. That was written in May and we've now got Marv and Ben Arfa who can play on the left so in the immediate future LB is the spot more readily available.

I see him as a winger in the long run, and I think he does too watching him play. You don't see many left backs doing the old Messi moments v Stoke that Shane did. He seems to love attacking. If he does play mainly at LB this season that's not neccesarily a bad thing as he'll learn valuable lessons about how to defend so when he does move to LW he can attack but will also not sherk his defensive duties.

Nothing since Pardew said he'd have to have a scan on the leg and could be out for 6-8 weeks. Im assuming he hasn't gone on tour.

Ah, wait i've got it wrong about Ferguson. The actual quote was:

So its Guthrie that is out for 6-8 weeks, but Ferguson still has to go in for an x-ray. Hopefully just as precaution and theres nothing up with it.

I'll be gutted if Ferguson's injury is really bad.

Same, although it COULD (probably wont like) force them to make some sort of move for a left back. Unless they believe Simpson/Kadar can really fill that gap.
