I really like the 07/08 promotion plain amber top, which is the same as that era's England shirt (obviously in different colours). They are my 2 favourite shirts. My first kit was the 'Bonus' sponsored shirt with the tiger pattern on it before it changed to Pepis when I was a toddler. I got carried onto the pitch as mascot by Alan Fettis many a time wearing that one. It also caused me to get bullied at school because I supported a team none of the other kids had ever heard of
That would be the iceing on the cake.. I've got the 2007/8 home kit with "Windass, 9" on the back, ordered it beginning of the season.. don't know if I'll ever meet him..
Quality.. ok we'll do a deal, i have the white away shirt also signed by Deano, in exchange for your legs???
What did you do have a stack of shirts handy when you met him?? I have a piece of paper signed by him (given to me as a birthday present from a Leeds fan) thats the best i can do
amberosia - lived in Leeds for 12 years (but always supported City) but you have well and truly stuffed me mate on your knowledge of the white ****e. Whilst on the subject, don't the city of Leeds' colours of blue & yellow extend to those of Leeds Rhinos (formerly Leeds Loiners - funny name don't now why) - for my sins lived in Headingley for 7 years. Also, the reason why City supporters hate the main towers at West Stand clad in blue & yellow - unfortunately they are the colours also of Hull City Council as present owners of the KC. Hopefully that will change.
I took a few things along to his book signing mate, i mentioned you but he doesnt remember the red jumper..
I've got a shirt and a ball both signed by our League One promotion winning team, a shirt and ball both signed by our first Premier League squad and a Bolton shirt signed by Jay Jay, but I'm not swapping them for anyone's life. My lad has programmes signed by most of the players from our past seven or eight seasons. I used to have a Man United programme, signed to me personally by George Best(I was a kid when I got it, a Man United sponsor who was a mate of my Dad's got me it for my birthday), but my Mum threw it away, as she thought it was rubbish.
I don't think I've got anything signed, but I do have an authentic (as worn by Dave Roberts) 1976/77 home shirt - black and amber stripes with white collar with number 6 on the back. It must be the last home shirt without a tiger crest, just H.C.A.F.C embroidered on it. I also used to have an old Jimmy McGill shirt from a few years earlier, but don't know where that disappeared to.
Wonder if we'll get a commemorative shirt/3rd kit next season - 10 year anniversary of the KC opening. Perhaps a modernised version of the 1935 blue kit with a commemorative '3 crowns' badge on it? Or a white shirt, black shorts and socks combo, based on the 1904 kit? Or a Blue and orange kit based on Needler's idea. It would make good commercial sense, as one-off's would sell well.
Is this swap shop? I have a 1995 home shirt signed by the first team squad plus Terry Dolan, Jeff Lee and Martin Fish. I have the 09/10 shirt signed by the first team and I also have my Wembley programme signed by Folan, Dawson, Ricketts, ***an and Garcia on the outside and the Ian Ashbee profile page inside signed by Ash. I also have a small piece of paper signed by Jimmy White from when I won a competition on Blunderside to see him at Brid Spa!!
Clubs changing kits? Knock yourself out fella. http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/English_Football_League/index.html
I reckon we should change our shorts to white. But that'd be about it. I think Scunny changed to white a few years ago before changing back, there was another league team who changed from white to blue but I can't remember who it was.
we used to play in black and white i have the chris elton book and there are photos to prove it. i reckon we should never play in white shorts.
