chris hughton is a lot more clever than people give him credit. Particularly in the interviewy/mind gamey bit. He deflects all praise to the players, has his feet on the ground and yesterday knew exactly when to "pull the trigger" with Kamara and Pilkington. He knew exactly what he was doing. Everton played by the numbers but we had knackered them out after 80 minutes. they had no ideas. We looked fresh and ready to push. We did, and got our just desserts. Thought it was very interesting saying Kamara may not start and he's not sure of his fitness and building him in etc. Load of crap of course. Hughton is managing Kamaras hunger. Kamara will be like a jack in the box to play against ManU and I would not start him. His time to start is coming but if we can keep it even till 60 minutes then put Kei on he is going to literally explode onto the pitch. Suddenly, striking options. So happy about that.

Totally agree with this. I think Hughton felt we could have gone on, but by phrasing it to show the players had confidence, and they surpassed what he expected, it gives them a huge confidence boost. Kamara must be itching to play Man United, to go from the MLS to Old Trafford is going to be incredible for him. I think we'll revert to 4-2-3-1 against United unless Tettey is still out. If we can keep it tight then maybe bring on Kamara late on to worry them.

Yes, that's a fair review. I love the sentence: There were several doubters when CH signed Whittaker, but I feel we look more assured down the right when he plays - though I appreciate the good job Russ Martin does. I think the comment about Hughton 'knowing what he's doing' is pretty spot on Can't wait until he takes a look at strengthening the more attacking positions, in the summer. I really feel we turned a corner yesterday. Still buzzin'!
Harry Kane has been the one "flop" really. All the rest of Hughtons acquisitions have performed well.
And even better is that there's talk of Garrido and I'd imagine Kamara too, maybe becoming permanent additions in the summer. Kane was always on a one season loan anyway.
Also, where are the Leeds fans telling us that their ex-players are no good? We had all 4 in the starting eleven!
