It appears (all hold on to your hats) Ollie has/had a plan
He even told the players too

Some of the players on the bench on Saturday knew they would be playing on Tuesday. He is saying Barnsley will be a higher tempo match and so players like (I am assuming) Manning, Freeman, Pawel, Furlong and Yeni might be more suited for Tuesday (I guess Mackie, Luongo and Goss less so).

Although I am all against changing a winning team, but they knew Saturday lunchtime (win/lose/draw) it would happen, and hopefully we are mid-table mediocraty ...then this must be a good idea....Obviously if we lose then I will be the first to decry..."never change a winning team"

I thought that Holloway said in his press conference last Friday that he would be using the whole squad for the next three fixtures ( Cardiff, Barnsley & Leeds. ) He said that with three fixtures in a week that he would have to make changes and rotate the squad, although that may prove difficult if they won Saturday's game.

But the 'winning team' was the one that appeared after the substitutions on Saturday so we should be far less bothered about changing the starting XI who struggled for long periods. I do agree that we need the same levels of consistency in midfield that we are beginning to see at the back and up front. To me that means a focus on Manning, Freeman and Wszolek as the basis for next season, Mackie as an impact sub and Goss as the apprentice. Luongo I have no idea what to do with frankly.

Not surprising and well done or getting the result on Saturday with a "weakened" team.

I would expect to see Manning, Freeman, Furlong, Wszołek and Yeni on Tuesday in what should be a more competitive team.

It's really the midfield that needs tweaking. The forwards and backs are pretty much set at the moment.

I'd start with Ravel Morrison on Tuesday.

Came on and spent 20 minutes talking to the team constantly and ensuring that the team were positioned and setup for the final 20 minutes.

Reminded me of Joey.

I want the right team out on Saturday to do the double over Leeds. Will save me some stick when I get back to Aus next week. (Currently enjoying no phone contact and limited internet in Cuba)

Wow, talk about different viewpoints. I saw an unfit and slightly overweight sub avoiding the ball as much as possible, jumping at defenders rather than trying to win headers and generally looking lost in the cut and thrust of Championship football. Can someone let me know if IH is going to follow sku's advice so I can stay at home tonight. Plenty of overrated primadonnas on TV...

Smithies
Perch Lynch Onouha Bidwell
Hall Manning Freeman
Yeni Washington Smith

If that is not the starting 11 then I am a Dutchman.

You could be correct, although Furlong may be an option over Perch?

Yeni should get the nod over Wszolek, but then I would expect him to be a sub in the 2nd half.
