Certainly does. Of course you need a circle of friends and acquaintances with jobs and experience of the work they are in yourself. People sat around on their phones and laptops won’t have that.
I do seem to know a lot of people. Whether they'd call me friends/acquaintance I'm not sure I've had a call regards to a customer service job. So fingers crossed.
Remember what Mark Twain said about how as he got older his dad became more wise. I remember once, when younger, and drinking too much popping in the pub my dad was in after work and after a couple of drinks him asking if I was going home. No, I said, I am off to the local to see my mates. He said to me that the people in the pub were acquaintances, your mate is the person waiting at home for you, she will be the one there when things go wrong, baling you out, they won’t. Years later I know what he meant. Sometimes I wish he was still here so I could tell him so.
I've got to make a call on Monday about an interview for a job for a finance company. I'm not counting my chickens, But fingers crossed.
Agencies do frustrate me. I applied for a job on Friday and got a missed call about a job. Today I call them back and ask me to email then another and no mention of the job I applied for.
He was at a big club & peaked about 3 months in ... all downhill since then. Past his best, a has been, **** him.
I love the fact that virtually every thread goes off-topic I have a phone interview tomorrow for Ideal Boilers in their customer service department. It's not ideal(No pun intended). But it's a little bit of progression.
