There's still 2 months to go in the transfer window which has only been open 15 days so there's no need to start panicking like Huw Jenkins #1 fan seems to be. Everton have their foot on the gass simply because they have their first Europa league game on 27th of this month so they're trying to get things done sharpish. Other than them, every other club is working in the normal way at a standard pace.
It seems the Liverpool press are distancing Everton from their recent offer of £40m and starting to say Siggy is not worth the money anyway. All part of their plan imo, in their continued efforts to destabilize Siggy, keep him unhappy and set up a low end offer from Everton in the coming weeks. I'd like us to consider other options regardless and Nacer Chadli, imo, would be a good player to replace Siggy if he does go.
The only position we're desperate to cover imo, is RB. We can't have a ground hog day where Fer is expected to play RB as Naughton and Rangel are both injured again. Last season we were recovering nicely until that happened and for six games we steadily fell back into the danger zone. We cant let that happen again, it almost killed us last season.
Up front, I doubt Llorente will be going anywhere due to age and injury, but relying on Abraham as his #2 leaves is a huge worry for me. We need another striker as badly as we need a RB imo. I wouldn't mind seeing Bony back. Even though he failed at City and Stoke, I think that could work to our advantage. He'll be desperate to kick start his career again imo and that could work very well for us. Is Crouch for sale??
