Well we've gone from selling to reduce the wage bill : understandable
to no new players until players go : understandable
to purchasing more wingers : hmmmm
to selling all but one centre half : not remotely understandable.
to failing to purchase the very type of player so desperately needed even though Brentford dropped their asking price to accommodate us : un forgiveable
to having no support striker , good luck Ollie you're going to be busy
to the last day of the transfer window Declan John ffs

Sums our club and this window up to a tee but then again it was what most of us predicted.

I've not seen such hysteria on this site before.

Give John a chance. He may surprise you.
The time to condemn a player is AFTER they have failed, not BEFORE.

The fact that he couldn't fit in at Cardiff is irrelevant. Numerous very good players have gone there in recent seasons and couldn't fit in to their style of play. I use the word style very loosely.

The Swans' are no longer at the top table where money is thrown around drunken seaman style. The Club has to take stock, cut expenditure, and make do and mend, for the time being.

Rangers not happy letting Declan John go, they rate him.

Signed:
Asoro, Dhanda, Celina and Declan John, lets give them a fair shot before we start slagging them off <ok>

Missed out on Woods but,
1. Did Brentford want to sell him?
Valuation kept changing, £6m to £7m back to £6.5m? Personally I don't think they did and were changing his valuation to 'unsettle' potential suitors, us.
2. Were we seriously trying to buy him? We bid £4m, it was rejected, did we make a second bid? no.

If we want Woods we can still get him on loan so watch this space.

Heard we'd signed Sean Clare, who?, Sean Clare, too but nothing confirmed.

Gone:
Fabianski, Mawson sold, rumors around Clucass, Fulton, Naughton and Amat with Fernandez and J Ayew more or less departed.

We touted most of these names at the end of last season as players sure to leave or players we wanted to leave, Fulton the exception, so reality has pretty much matched our predictions <applause>

A huge minus is that our shinny new manager appears to have gone AWOL.

I'm still confused, someone tell me what to think about all this, do I laugh or cry, help.

I thought we had turned a corner on Saturday with a great win at Sheffield. We're firmly in reverse now.

The failure to sign Woods is an absolute disgrace and shows how much our Board piss people around. Our fans were quick to have a rant at Jordan Ayew this week but I've every sympathy with him being caught up in this shambles.

Potter has every right to walk away and personally I wouldn't blame him.

Probably the best summing up I have seen on here....except for the swipe about us, but that is to be expected.

I didn't realise he played as a striker and centre half my apologies for doubting his obvious outstanding capabilities , but as Warnock got rid of him because he couldn't defend we'll have to make do with his other qualities <laugh>

I am not prone to hysteria but this sums it up for me.

As far as Declan John is concerned I hope Potter is able to do what he has done in the past and that's improve players rejected by others. We can only hope that we get some in during the loan window e.g. CB and midfield and striker.

You think that " being rejected " by Cardiff is a burden for ANY footballer ? I don't. He escaped, and now he has the chance to show us what he can do. Believe me, Cardiff may well be eating their words in the near future. Or, I will be. <laugh>

I should have added , we're now hopeful of loaning a player we could have owned and possibly made a profit on all for an extra 500,000.

NS that sums it up though doesn't it, I hope he can improve someone who has failed at 2 clubs, wouldn't it be nice to try and improve someone who is already a tidy player and in positions we are really in need of.

I suggest you move over I think I'll join you on the fence :emoticon-0100-smile

I've not read that he failed anywhere. Who decides when a player has failed ? I've been reading only positive things about him. Other than here, of course, where constant whingeing is the only thing on offer.

If Warnock moved him on it's probably because he didn't suit the hoof ball style that he prefers. Any player who Warnock gets rid of, sits on a high plateau as far as I'm concerned.
