I saw the second one in real time, I thought he’d dived, but looking at the replay he had no option but to be on the floor, the first one I saw on SSN later, seeing all the angles that VAR have, how was neither of them a penalty? The second one, may be dubious, but what was the point of having VAR, if you’re not going to get him to at least look at it? May as well bin VAR as it’s still biased!
I think it's a bit like 'umpires call' in cricket. The commentators said that if the ref had given the first one, then VAR probably wouldn't have overturned it. As it was it was reckoned the ref didn't get a good enough sight to make a decision and the replays weren't 100% conclusive, so ref gets the benefit of the doubt. The second one should have been given imo.
Yeah, but unlike cricket, VAR can recommend the ref has a look & then he gets to see & possibly change his mind!
I thought they were both pens, VAR should have given them. However Huddersfield didn’t have a shot on goal, if you get to a game like that and don’t have a shot. You don’t desrerve to go up.
I saw a stat today, don't know whether it is true or not, but when Jon Moss has reffed Hudd'field they have never won, and when he has Reffed Forest they have never lost.
We had 14 shots, 5 on target against Wednesday to their 12 shots, 3 on target. Huddersfield had 5 shots, none on target. Forest, 8 shots, 2 on target. I'd say our game was far better for the neutral.
Probably was, but it was hardly a classic and if your the winning team I don't suppose you care either tbf. Imo it just showed how poor the champ is ATM from top to bottom bar probs 1 or 2 teams
I think our first play off final against Bristol City was just too tense - certainly not a classic but it was at least settled by a truly fantastic goal (probably still one of the best scored at New Wembley so far}. I thought the Sheffield Wednesday final was much better - I don't know what the stats were but there was a fair bit of goalmouth action, City created chances and played really well for a deserved victory sealed by another fantastic goal.
