Reckon 90+ points for auto promotion this season? That would mean we need minimum 26 points from 12 games (36 points on offer). We can afford to 'drop' no more than another 10 points between now and the end of the season. Doable, but I believe we must avoid defeat to Boro away next week to keep them below us. Boro also have to go to Burnley next month. Burnley themselves have Brighton away next month. Other than that the top four stay clear of each other to the end. It's in our own hands, and the Championship will always throw up the odd result as it's so competitive week in and week out, but we need to string a run of wins together starting Saturday

On paper we have the easiest run-in. "Oh but we don't play in paper- we play on grass" I hear you bleat in a mildly confrontationally way. So who would you rather play, teams going for promotion or other teams? We've got 3 out the last 4 at home against lowly teams Borough have got Burnley away, Ipswich home, Birmingham away, BHA home. How many points will they get from those four games. I reckon we can afford to lose at Borough and still go up, as long as we knock in a few and don't concede any.
I reckon 90pts will win it and 88 will be enough for second. A team would be very unfortunate not to go up with 87 pts but that could happen this season. In our case 7 wins and 3 draws should be enough as long as we don't lose to Boro. Twitchy bum time
