Some interesting stats from the 11/12 Championship season:
    http://www.football-league.co.uk/features/20120511/npower-championship-in-numbers_2293307_2769149

Here are a handful of the stats:

8 - Billy Sharp scored eight goals in the final eight games of the campaign to fire Southampton into the Premier League.

16 - Birmingham City's Chris Burke takes the award for the most assists, putting the ball on a plate for his team-mates on 16 occasions. As well as setting up the goals, Burke has also found the net 13 times, the highest total of goals for a midfielder. (Lets buy him!)

26 - Middlesbrough may feel hard done by this season, hitting the frame of the goal more than any other side in the division.

69 - Reading scored fewer goals than any other side in the top five, 69, but managed to top the division thanks to a steady backline that conceded just 41 times, the best defensive record in the league.

92 - Gus Poyet's Brighton & Hove Albion picked up the most yellow cards.

558 - At the other end of the spectrum, Portsmouth committed the most fouls.

9 - Leicester and Leeds United were on the receiving end of no less than nine red cards.

Is that why they're called "Dirty Leeds"?
